Week Four: NFL Picks
Week four is upon us football fans and with it comes another week of picks. Last week I went 10-6 pulling my record to 19-12. I only have two weeks of picks because I forgot to pick the games for week one. I'm a little late with the picks this week, but here they are,(home team in caps)
PANTHERS over falcons: Both the Panthers and Falcons are trying to prove to the NFC that they are for real. The Falcons really havn't beaten anybody so far but looked impressive in week three's victory over the Chiefs. Carolina had two comeback victories to start the season, but couldn't repeat those comebacks last week in their 20-10 loss to the Vikings. Carolina just has to much fire power in this game though and I think they will win by 10 or more points over the inexperienced Falcons.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
BENGALS over browns: Both the Bengals and Browns limp into this week's AFC North showdown at 0-3. Cleveland has shown that last year was a fluke and the Bengals just can't catch a break. I think Carson Palmer will have his way with the Browns secondary which has struggled mightily this season.
JAGUARS over Texans:This is the week I think the Jags wake up against a horrible Texans defense and blow somebody out. Jacksonville just has to get that explosive ground game going, which shouldn't be that big of an issue against Houston.
broncos over Chiefs: This game really shouldn't be tough to pick. Kansas City's defense hasn't been able to stop anybody thus far in the season and nobody's been able to stop the Bronco offense. They lead the league in points per game and should still lead that category after this week.
49ers over SAINTS: I'm going with the Niners this week over the Saints this week, because San Fran has a defense and New Orleans really doesn't. This game really could go either way this week. Reggie Bush has been solid this year and has made an impact on offense and on special teams. but Frank Gore, Isaac Bruce and Vernon Davis and the rest of the Niners offense should prove to be to much for the beleaguered Saint defense.
cardinals over JETS: This is really a tough game to pick this week. The Jets have a lot of weapons on offense, so does Arizona. Both teams have great quarterbacks. But both teams have very suspect defenses. In the Battle of the Grey beards this Sunday, I think Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Kurt Warner will prove to be too much for the Jets defense to handle.
packers over BUCCANEERS: This game on Sunday will be an absolute slobber knocker. Green Bay and Tampa both are solid on both sides of the football. But Green Bay just has too many weapons for the Buccs defense. Aaron Rodgers and company will pull this one out late.
TITANS over vikings: This one won't be pretty, it won't be high scoring. This will be a battle of the defenses. Both the Titans and the Vikings boast two of the leagues best defensive units and they both will be on display this Sunday. Tennessee's Chris Johnson is a threat to break one on the ground and through the air, and that's where I think The Titans will win this game. The Vikes pass D is very suspect and they can be throw on if they don't get a solid pass rush. If they can't get to Kerry Collins, the Titans should out last the Vikes on Sunday.
chargers over RAIDERS: If it weren't for some poor coaching last week, the Raiders could very well be 2-1 instead of 1-2. If it weren't a horrible call, the Chargers could be 2-1 as well. But both teams come in at 1-2 this week. San Diego should outlast the Raider defense and put the final dagger in the coffin of Lane Kiffin this Sunday. San Diego has just too much depth on both sides of the football and will prove to be too much for the Raiders on Sunday.
bills over RAMS: I think it's pretty safe to call the Rams the worst team the NFL has seen in a while. It's a bit surprising to me though, when you have players like Torry Holt, Steven Jackson, Orlando Pace, Leonard Little, Randy McMichael, and Will Witherspoon it's hard to be this bad. The Bills should just roll over the Rams on Sunday, this one won't be close. Scott Linehan has lost his first three games this season and now he's lost his team after the benching of Marc Bulger. Bulger has said that he no longer wants to play for Linehan, and now All-pro running back Steven Jackson is firing shots at the coach, voicing his displeasure with the benching of Bulger. Scott Linehan has to have third degree burns with how hot that seat must be, if things don't turn around quick, which I doubt they will, things will get very ugly in St.Louis. Buffalo should easily win this game by two touchdowns or more, the Rams are that bad.
COWBOYS over redskins: Another week poses the same question: how do you stop the Dallas offense? The answer, you can't. I don't think Washington really stands a chance against the high powered Dallas offense. They have just too many weapons on offense and move the ball whenever they want. If Washington stands a chance, it's because of their offense and the suspect Dallas defense. The Skins' will have to keep the Cowboy offense on the bench with time consuming drives and Clinton Portis will have to pound the ball with effectiveness. This game may prove to be a shootout, but Dallas should prove to be the better team in the end.
eagles over BEARS: This game could prove to be a nail biter or a blowout. If Brian Westbrook plays, which according to the Philly press and the man himself, he will the Eagles could pull away and win by two or more touchdowns. But if he doesn't then we can expect Donovan McNabb to throw the ball 40+ times. I don't think Andy Reid has faith in Correll Buckhalter to shoulder the load for the Birds even though he has bee very good as a backup to Westbrook. The Bears will need to protect Kyle Orton on Sunday night, if they don't, expect to see Rex Grossman by the time the fourth quarter rolls around because Jim Johnson is going to bring non-stop heat to the Bears offensive line. I think Philly just has too much for the Bears offense to handle and their defense will prove to be too overpowering.
ravens over STEELERS: That's right, I'm going with the upset in this one. The Ravens will win this game with their defense. Willie Parker is missing from action and the Steeler offensive line looked confused against the ferocious pass rush of Philadelphia last week and it doesn't get any easier this Monday. This game won't be pretty and it's going to come down to who's offense will make the most plays when they count.
