Miami Dolphins: Did Chad Henne and New O.C. Violate NFL CBA With Meeting?

Jordan WallingMar 1, 2011

There is news out of South Florida this morning. Chad Henne and the Miami Dolphins violated the NFL CBA when Henne met with the Dolphins' new offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll.

The story broke when Miami Herald writer and co-host of Armando and the Amego on AM 660, Armando Salguero reported that the meeting between the two parties was in violation of the CBA.

At a charity golf event, Henne admitted the following to reporters, "Once we signed coach Daboll, I tried to get in there as quick as I could, so I learned the offense.  And I've been meeting with him for the last month now, so I feel pretty comfortable with what he's teaching and what the offense is going to be about."

"I'm more concentrated on this new offense and learning this new offense to master it, and be the guy that can teach the other guys out there more."

It is unsure what the NFL will do to remedy the violations of the Dolphins and Henne, but the NFL is certain to address the situation to prevent it from happening in the future.

The Palm Beach Post initially praised Henne's preparation, admiring his initiative in preparing for next season.  With many in South Florida unsure about the quarterback situation heading into next season, and despite the legality of the allegations, his actions show a desire to continue leading the Miami Dolphins heading into the future.

I will update any developments as they become known.
