Brock Lesnar: Why Both WWE and MMA Need Him
Brock Lesnar has been a household name in both the WWE and UFC for a while now.
Everybody knows Lesnar and can quickly pick out the closest thing to "The Hulk" that mankind has.
He's been a dominant force in both the WWE and UFC. There are many reasons these two promotions need him.
So without further ado, what are the reasons both promotions need him?
UFC: Marketability
1 of 8
Ok, so maybe his marketability isn't the best, but it's up there.
He's the face of the UFC, everybody knows him. I guarantee people would know Brock Lesnar over Cain Velasquez.
Truth is, the UFC banks on Lesnar products. There are tons of Lesnar fans who back him everywhere he goes.
Buying products just because Lesnar endorses it, it could turn into a lucrative business.
Although he is a very secluded man, money always talks.
UFC: Pay-Per-View Buys
2 of 8
If you follow the UFC a lot, you have most likely noticed this.
A card with Brock Lesnar sells tons. No question, when Lesnar is a part of a UFC card it sells drastically.
Lesnar versus Couture at UFC 91 and Lesnar versus Mir at UFC 100 are two of the top selling UFC cards in history in terms of pay-per-view buys.
You can't question the draw the man has. He has a following not only from MMA fans, but the WWE fans too.
Plus he's kind of like the bad boy of the UFC up until recently. After his post-match tirade after beating Frank Mir, many people started to like Lesnar, and many started to hate him.
The haters want to see him fail and the lovers want to see him succeed. That makes him one of the biggest PPV draws the UFC has to offer.
UFC: One of the Top Heavyweights in the UFC

Alright, some people might not like this and by some I mean very few.
Lesnar is a top heavyweight hands down. I'm not a big fan of Lesnar, but the guy knows how to fight.
He's a top contender in the UFC's heavyweight division and was offered a title shot after amassing a record of just 2-1. He went on to beat Randy Couture at UFC 91 and win the heavyweight belt which he would hold until October 23, 2010 when he lost to Cain Velasquez.
Now he's set to meet Junior Dos Santos after he finishes The Ultimate Fighter at UFC 131 in June.
He only holds a record of 5-2 and still has a shot to get back his heavyweight belt. How many other fighters with only three fights under their belt have obtained a shot at a championship belt?
UFC: Dana White's Best Friend

Alright so this is kind of joke but honestly, Dana needs Brock for all the aforementioned reasons.
These two are really good friends and Dana has definitely taken to Brock and looked after him since his debut in the UFC.
We all know how Chuck Liddell and Dana are together. Now that Chuck has retired, Lesnar has sort of filled that void.
He's a really good friend of Dana's so having him fight in the UFC is pretty ideal. Not to mention the money he brings in like I said before.
WWE: Marketability
5 of 8
I'm not afraid to admit this, but I had a Brock Lesnar action figure when I was in middle school. I was in middle school ok? Not to mention a Brock Lesnar poster that I never hung up.
Anyway, that's his reach, his toys and items sell. There's no way around that. Not to mention the DVDs of Lesnar fighting at Wrestlemania and such?
Come on, it's a no brainer. Yeah I said this for the UFC too, but that just shows how big of a pull Brock Lesnar has. He's huge no matter where he is.
Oh yeah, I also played constantly as him in video games. Just adding on to my dorkiness here.
WWE: Pay-Per-View Buys

Ok, ok the same thing as the UFC. But again, same thing is applied, money is universal.
Can you imagine a Brock Lesnar return at Wrestlemania?
People are going nuts over The Rock coming back, could you just imagine Lesnar?
Ok, The Rock is definitely bigger then Lesnar (especially to me I love The Rock and have a poster of him I never hung up and again yes, my dorkiness is showing), but it would be huge still.
Lesnar was dominant in the WWE, he would be unstoppable and would draw in huge crowds as he ran through the WWE.
WWE: Lesnar Against the Nexus
7 of 8
I haven't watched wrestling in a while, but my friend briefed me on the Nexus. I don't even know how I even knew they existed, but he briefed me.
So they are the most dominant alliance wrestling has seen. Ok, that's all good and dandy, but Lesnar would run over these guys. By run over I mean like what a train going 100 miles an hour would do to a tricycle.
Yeah, that image you see is basically what Lesnar would do to them.
I don't care if you throw six guys at Lesnar, he would destroy them.
WWE: The WWE Could Use Brock as a Bad Guy
8 of 8
This is exactly what would happen. Brock would return and be the biggest thing in the WWE ever.
He would dominate everyone and would go undefeated until the day he decided to hang up his wrestling boots for good.
As dominant as he is, he inevitably would be the bad guy like normal. That's who Lesnar is, that's his wrestling persona.
The WWE could seriously use a bad guy like Lesnar. He was great in his first stint, he's been great as the bad guy in the UFC (you know he's the bad guy in the UFC don't lie, everyone wants to see him fail especially Frank Mir) and he would be a great bad guy in his second stint.
Lesnar is the greatest antagonist in history. I'm sure he's nothing like it outside of the WWE, but hey everybody loves a good bad guy.
