New England Patriots Offseason: Logan Mankins' Agent Shouts out to Media
At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Logan Mankins' agent spoke to the media and criticized the New England Patriots' approach on Mankins' free-agent status.

"Everything with New England is built on leverage and using the system. Everything is leverage,” Bauer told the Boston Herald. ”This is one of the greatest guards they’ve had in the history of the place; John Hannah was the other one. I think it’s a travesty what they’ve done to the kid."
It's clear that Mankins is seeking a long-term contract, but due to the current CBA expiring in March, Mankins is currently in "limbo."
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft had made it clear that he wants to sign Mankins to a long-term deal and make him a very rich man when he spoke to the media in Dallas during Super Bowl week.
However, it might be too late—Bauer feels this should have already been done.
"[It] should have been done a long time ago," Bauer said. "But it got stopped. And right now, we're not talking."
Bauer then went onto to claim that the Patriots front office said last season that they'd never place a franchise tag on an offensive linemen.
Whether or not if the statement is true, Mankins still sits with a pending free-agent tender that he has to decide on.
