Paint Shop Possibilities: Sneak Peak of the 2011 Draft QB's in Burgundy and Gold

Andrew SheaJun 7, 2018

We can all imagine what our favorite draft prospect or free agent might look like in team colors, but until we finally see it, it's just a fantasy.

With the draft closely approaching and many analysts preaching the Redskins to take a QB in the first round, I thought I would add a different angle to the fantasy.

Here's a look at a few of the quarterbacks available in the draft in Redskins colors.  It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.  Enjoy!

1. Christian Ponder

1 of 4

This is a picture that I hope to become reality  (Obviously, I know he wouldn't wear No. 7 due to Joe Theisman).  Ponder has been described as the poor man's Blaine Gabbert, and if the choice was up to me, I would choose to be poor in this case.  Ponder would be the best choice for the Redskins to draft in the second round, allowing them to use their first on a defensive player.

2. Blaine Gabbert

2 of 4

Blaine Gabbert is a player that really splashed on the scene in the past few months.  He has assumed the mantle of the best QB in the draft, according to NFL.com analyst Mike Mayok.

Gabbert has been receiving training from Terry Shea, former Chiefs QB coach and the same QB coach that mentored Sam Bradford, Josh Freeman, and Matthew Stafford.  If the Redskins have to draft a QB in the first round, it should be Blaine Gabbert.

3. Cam Newton

3 of 4

Cam Newton is the player with the biggest risk but possibly the biggest reward.  It is assumed that the Redskins will likely grab Newton with the 10th pick, but that would not come close to fixing the needs on offense.  Although he is very talented, he is too raw, and this uniform would be a terrible fit for him

4. Andy Dalton

Andy Dalton could prove to be a huge asset to whichever team picks him up.  He looks pro-ready and offers the arm to succeed at the next level.  If Shanahan and Co. picked him in the second round, there's a good chance he would have that expression a lot.
