Come to Think of it...NFL: Favre, Warner to Face Off in "Geriatric Bowl"

On Sunday, two of the more, shall we say, "mature" quarterbacks in the NFL will square off in what is becoming known in some circles as "The Geriatric Bowl". 

First, the vitals: Brett Favre is 38 and Kurt Warner is 37. Both have played in, and won, the Super Bowl  One is with a new team—Favre leaving the Pack after unceremoniously un-retiring and signing with the Jets, while the other, Warner, pitches for the Arizona Cardinals.

The Jets desperately need a victory. Following an opening day win over the Dolphins, they have looked disheveled in losses to the Pats and Chargers. Meanwhile, the surprising Arizona Cardinals are leading the NFC West with a 2-1 record in the early going.  

Thus far, Warner has had the better results between the two AARP candidates. He has a 111.7 QB rating and has completed 64.3 percent of his passes, throwing six TDs and only one interception. Favre, meanwhile, has a 98.7 rating, with six TDs and three interceptions. He has been very limited at practice all week with a bad ankle but is expected to play.

Warner is expected to have a productive day against a Jets secondary that was eaten up by Phillip Rivers last week.  Though the Jets can key on Warner more knowing that their running game isn't as good as what they faced last week, Warner may still be able to pick them apart.

In a victory for seniors everywhere, two gimpy old men will put their social security paychecks on hold for another week and take the field on Sunday. And you know what? It should be a decent game, actually.

Perhaps because he is the older of the two, Favre's Jets get a bye week following this game. while Arizona will welcome Buffalo and its stone faced coach, Mr. Personality himself, Dick Jauran.
