2011 NFL Trade Rumors: Is Your Team Interested in Dealing for Kevin Kolb?
There is still no CBA agreement and the owners/NFLPA are closing in on the deadline to make it happen.
Even so, NFL trade rumors are still flying around and the quarterback position has some of the biggest names on the market.
Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb has had a rough go of things in Philadelphia. One minute he's the starting quarterback, the next minute he's not. Then he's back in again and now he is on the block with a first-round pick on his head.
Philadelphia is no easy trading partner and could be looking for a mid-round pick in addition or a combination of picks similar to the deal Atlanta received when they shipped out Matt Schaub.
There are as many as 12 possible teams still looking to figure out their quarterback situation for 2011, and here is a look at the potential landing spots for Kevin Kolb.
“Who Is Kevin Kolb?”

New England Patriots - Super Bowl MVP
Atlanta Falcons - Franchise QB
Baltimore Ravens - Franchise QB
New Orleans Saints - Super Bowl MVP
Indianapolis Colts - Super Bowl MVP
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Franchise QB

These teams have their quarterback in place:
Kansas City Chiefs - Efficient QB
St. Louis Rams - Young franchise QB
Detroit Lions - Young (injury-prone) franchise QB
Dallas Cowboys - Franchise QB (although it is debatable in some circles)
Houston Texans - Franchise QB
Denver Broncos - Young (potential) franchise QB
Cleveland Browns - Young (potential) franchise QB
Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are in incredible trouble at the quarterback position.
They selected two young signal-callers last season in John Skelton and Max Hall; both got some time this season but neither of them are truly ready to take over a team.
Arizona plays in the worst division in football and has one of the league's best receivers in Larry Fitzgerald, but has nobody to get the ball to him.
The coaching staff may believe in Hall and Skelton down the line but they still need time to develop, and Arizona cannot be expected to compete without a veteran under center.
Kolb is a veteran quarterback that has yet to get the chance to truly excel, and Arizona could use a player like him.
They have the No. 5 pick in the draft, and that may be a bit too high to justify taking any of this year's available QBs, but if there is no CBA agreement they will not be able to trade players during the draft.
Buffalo Bills
4 of 14
The Bills saw improvement offensively with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. But while he may be a competent starter, he is not taking the Bills to the Super Bowl.
Coach Chan Gailey needs a quarterback that can handle his system, get things running smoothly and put up numbers in his offense.
The No. 3 overall pick could be the quarterback for Buffalo's future, but that is a serious risk at this point.
Kolb is a veteran that could come into a team with a young running back (C.J. Spiller), blossoming receiver (Stevie Johnson) and a coach that emphasizes the offensive game.
If they risk the high selection on a quarterback and miss it could be crippling, but at least they have something to go on with Kolb.
Carolina Panthers
5 of 14
The league's worst team drafted Jimmy Clausen in the second round last season but did not have the weapons to help him succeed.
Carolina has holes all over and, right now, may not even be ready to go after a quarterback and could be best served letting Clausen develop and become the leader of this team.
If they truly do not believe in Clausen and do not want to risk a pick on another young quarterback, then Kolb is their answer.
My biggest problem with them going after Kolb would be what they do with Clausen. Also, who do they think Kolb is throwing to and how do they think they can actually help him succeed.
Carolina is definitely a possibility, but I think they have too many other holes to truly make a run at him.
Cincinnati Bengals

Carson Palmer is "serious" about wanting to get out of Cincinnati.
The Bengals typically take the hard line on these situations and I fully expect to see them force Palmer into retirement or back on the field when this situation is resolved.
If he really is not in a Bengal uniform next season then they desperately need someone to put under center.
They own the No. 4 pick in the NFL draft but would be taking a huge risk on a quarterback at that spot. (Remember, they took Palmer No. 1 and sat him for a year).
This team should have interest in a quarterback regardless of what Palmer does, but if he is not going to play then they must go after a starter. Kolb could be that guy.
Jacksonville Jaguars
7 of 14
Starting quarterback David Garrard led the Jaguars to a fast start and a shot at their first division title since the league's realignment, but fell apart down the stretch.
He can look promising at times, can kill you at others and may not be the quarterback ready to take this team to the postseason.
Jacksonville needs a younger guy for the future anyway, and would avoid the hassle of grooming a rookie if they landed a young, yet experienced, guy like Kolb.
The price would have to be right for this team, though, and the Eagles' demands in return for the quarterback may be too rich for the Jaguars.
They could be interested but would have to truly believe he is their future if they were to go after him.
Miami Dolphins
8 of 14
This is one of the front-runners for Kolb's services.
The Miami Dolphins tried with Chad Henne and he did not rise to the occasion. Now they are likely going to have to find a new running back and have a coach who knows this is his last season if they do not make the postseason; it does not look good in Miami.
Brandon Marshall was brought over to make plays and unfortunately he has had trouble producing due to inconsistency at the quarterback position.
The Dolphins have a talented enough defense but need a quarterback they can hang their hat on.
Kolb wants to start and he will get an opportunity to do so if he can get to Miami.
Minnesota Vikings
9 of 14
The Vikes are another one of the front-runners for Kolb and he may be the missing piece for them.
After a tumultuous season with Brett Favre and uncertainty surrounding Joe Webb (I firmly believe they cannot go back to Tarvaris Jackson again), the Vikings need somebody new under center.
Minnesota has players at almost every other position and are only one year removed from being an interception away from the Super Bowl.
Instead of risking it all on a rookie that may not pan out, the Vikings can go after a guy who has shown the ability to play in the NFL but just needs the opportunity to shine.
If any team is interested in Kolb this offseason, Minnesota has to be one of them.
Oakland Raiders
10 of 14
The Oakland Raiders made impressive strides last season but still have a long way to go.
Unfortunately, they had some controversy at the quarterback position and wavered back and forth between Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski before settling down with Campbell.
The Raiders are on this list because they have a history of being inconsistent.
With Kolb on the market it cannot be ruled out, but I feel this team, and new coach Hue Jackson, will stick with Jason Campbell and bring some stability to their first positive season in almost a decade.
San Francisco 49ers
11 of 14
One of the favorites in the NFC West, the 49ers have a ton of talent on their team with one glaring hole: quarterback.
Putting a rookie under center may not be the answer for San Francisco, but a veteran like Kevin Kolb could be the piece to put them back on top of the division.
No other quarterback-needy team has the pieces in place like the 49ers.
New coach Jim Harbaugh will want a guy he can groom, and the interest in Kolb should be there, but if he does not believe in him then they will go elsewhere.
Whether they find it in the draft or look at other options, the 49ers will need a new quarterback.
Seattle Seahawks
12 of 14
The Seahawks need a quarterback for the future and tried with Charlie Whitehurst. They did not commit to him, and Matt Hasselbeck won the playoff game, but Hasselbeck is not getting any younger and they still do not know what they have in Whitehurst.
Some would argue Seattle is one of the top suitors, especially with a low draft pick (No. 25), but I'm not of the same mind.
If the Seahawks ever had a time to groom a rookie quarterback it would be this season. Hasselbeck can still play, Whitehurst is still there and the rookie can learn and wait until he is ready.
If Kolb came in, it would just be a mess with three potential starters.
Tennessee Titans
13 of 14
I believe the Titans are a team in rebuilding. They have no quarterback, they have a new coach and they are coming off a miserable season.
The problem here is they have some talented players and could still be a competitive team if they get the right player.
Kolb could be the answer or they could ride their hopes on a rookie (they have the No. 8 pick in the draft).
The problem here is that free agency may not take place until after the draft, so there is serious risk in waiting on Kolb.
The Titans should be interested, but if they want a quarterback they may look to the draft.
Washington Redskins
14 of 14
The Redskins obviously need a quarterback, but I do not think the Eagles will let the 'Skins get a sniff of him this time around.
After trading Donovan McNabb in-division last year, I doubt Andy Reid would send the player he got rid of McNabb for in the first place over to Washington as well.
Even if there is interest, it will not happen.
The Redskins need a quarterback but Shanahan will likely turn to the draft.
