UFC 127 Fight Card Preview and Other Great NickTheFace Videos
For those of you that do not know, 'NickTheFace' is an online video editor who has been making quality MMA previews for some time now.
Many online fans have continuously argued that this man deserves an official relationship with the UFC organization. They feel the quality of his work sometimes surpasses that of the UFC's own.
What do you think?
These are the three current videos up for upcoming bouts.
Go back and check out some of his other great work too.
3. Shogun Vs. Jones Trailer
1 of 3The trailer does an excellent job of capturing Jones's reaction to receiving a title shot in lieu of his injured teammate.
Overwhelmed, the young fighter drops to his knees, only to take a couple breaths and accept the honor claiming that he is ready.
It is appropriate that this matchup takes place as the only other person to have such a meteoric rise in MMA stardom is in fact the current light heavyweight champion, Mauricio Rua.
Jones is now where Rua was six years ago in the now defunct Pride FC. Neither man is going to relent.
By defeating Jones, Rua can earn his first successful title defense and fulfill his claim as one of the greatest fighters ever at 205lbs.
If Jones wins, simply put, he will officially become the next big thing in MMA.
This is a clash of two unstoppable superpowers happening at just the right time.
2. Couture Vs. Machida Trailer
2 of 3This is one of the best matchups from a stylistic standpoint to grace us in recent memory.
NickTheFace does a great job of pointing that out as Couture, possibly the greatest game planner in history, claims that Machida is an interesting puzzle he wants to try and crack.
Both men are supreme at making their opponents play the game that they want.
Couture pushes his foe into gritty clinch confrontations and roughs them up inside.
Machida, conversely, pulls his foe into a chess game of range management. A game that he rarely loses.
Who can impose their gameplan and their style?
Does Couture still have the best fight IQ in the game, or will his age catch up with him?
If Machida wins, he will rebound back into contender status and possibly take Couture's place as the cerebral master of his division.
1. Fitch Vs. Penn Trailer
3 of 3Fitch vs. Penn is the biggest superfight possible at welterweight right now outside of St-Pierre's upcoming title defense against Jake Shields.
If Fitch can stop Penn, than he is ready to challenge himself against the dangers of St-Pierre again.
If Penn defeats Fitch, barring a quick KO, than he has proven he can overcome the smothering wrestling style that snuffed him out in his last St-Pierre bout.
And these two men are fighters. Fitch may have a decision-heavy record and a style that many find boring, but he is not really a "points" fighter.
Fitch does not back off or rest and regroup like a points fighter does. He pushes and pushes until his opponent breaks or time is called.
Penn has knockout power and ultra-elite submission abilities making him perhaps Fitch's most dangerous opponent to date.
I cannot wait to see which fighter rises to the occasion.
