Robbie Keane: Can He Win the Reds over?
Many questions were asked when Rafa Benitez spent the best part of £20 million on 28 year old Robbie Keane.
There is no doubt that Keane has scored goals wherever he has been. But, at 28 years of age, has Benitez parted with way too much cash to capture his signature?
For all those who believe this to be the case there is a definite argument in their favour—Robbie Keane has not found the back of the net in a Liverpool shirt.

It has been said that Keane cannot buy a goal at the moment and some of his misses in recent games would certainly seem to back up this theory.
Keane, like many others, has always been a confidend player; when he scores one, he tends to go on a run.
It has to be asked why his confidence was not sky high following his "dream" move to Liverpool FC. He had commanded a large transfer fee and Benitez thinks he is the man to link up best with one of the best strikers in the world in Torres.
It would be easy to say that the price tag is weighing heavy on Keane's mind and having an adverse effect on his performances but only he knows if that is the case.
With all this taken into account, has Keane's start been that bad? He hasn't scored, but his performances have been good and he is settling in. What are the odds that he breaks his duck in the derby on Saturday, making all the questions about his lack of goals will disappear? Stranger things have happened.
I'm pretty convinced that the argument around Keane is mainly fuelled by the price tag/age issue; it now boils down to Keane himself proving the doubters wrong and Benitez right.
In my opinion Keane will come good at Liverpool FC and will prove to be a good buy. His goals will come sooner rather than later and that will help his overall performance.
Remember when Crouch signed? He went many more games than Keane has without a goal and things didn't turn out too badly with him did they?
Good luck Robbie, keep plugging away and it will come!
