If The Economy and The Stockmarket crashes will WWE have to change JBL's gimmick

Read the headlines.
Sure we all love wrestling and love writing about it.
But it be hard not to notice what's going on outside wrestling.
and that something is the potential collapse of the world economy.
Several weeks ago during Raw Jerry Lawler mentioned when JBL came out of his limo that he had lost alot of money due to the stock market and that he was in a bad mood.
Which I thought was definetly important and clever to mention.
Sure JBL as the rich texan who made it rich and moved to New York City might be his on screen persona. but the fact of the matter is John Bradshaw Layfield really is known in real life circles as an enteprenuer, and has appeared on MSNBC and is heavily involved in financies as well is his rich wife.

So the question arises, just what will happen personally and professionally to his gimmick if our stock market and the world's economy's market collapses.
Here's WWE's two options if and or when the market collapses.
And that is if WWE and entertainment as we know it continues in a worst case scenerio of a world economic collapse.

The first is to keep JBL heel and play him off as one of the Wall Street "Insiders": who knew it was coming and who did illegal investments which lead to the bail out.
This would give him even more heat, and would be the best way to have art/entertaiment imitate life.
Common every day middle class people are already angry that they will have to bail out rich people and rich companies who caused this to happen.
JBL can be seen and portrayed as Us vs Them. he'd still have his limo and would preach to the fans of their ignorance and blame them for their loans and mortgages instead of blaming himself and other high end people.

The other option and one that I personally would love to see and would find the most entertaining is this:
JBL looses everything.
WWE could go all out on this.
JBKL could go missing after the crash.
Much like a bit WCW did when Cactus Jack had amnsesia and went missing , until they found him in a bar and he didnt know who he was.
JBL humiliated that he lost everything could go missing.
And WWE could do segments each week looking for him.

They could send a star out to find him.
Even Charlie Haas.
Each week charlie could be somewhere else ( whatever city they are in)
And as a part of his reporter gimmick , each week appear as and imitate another WWE stars or legends to get his scoop and report on the whereabout's of JBL.

The lead up would be the payoff of when they finally find JBL, he is working in some farm or western bar wearing his cowboy hat.
Now from there it could go two more ways.
JBL comes back to Raw as a poor guy.
No more limo , but still wearing his cowboy hat. Kinda bring back the Justin Hawk Bradshaw, just without the long hair.
If WWE did it right they could make him a fan favorite.
One where he could go on the mic and blame the very people he was once a part of.
They could really get the fans to empathize with him.
He could represent the people,.
It would be brilliant.
Each week he could come out walking dejected and taking his frustration out on an oppenent,
then after his match go on the mic and rant about how he lost everything and it's changed him and state facts about how we were all screwed.

You want to take it to the next level?
You want to take this storyline to the heights of the McMahon vs Austin angle of the 90's?
You want to take this storyline to the heights of the McMahon vs Austin angle of the 90's?
Ok then bring Vince McMahon in as the intact corporate millionare who survived the crash and who has more control then ever.
And have JBL take on the "Man" Vince McMahon
The fallen common now middle class man, representing us vs. The Corporate Billionare who represents the corporate greed that leads our economy to collapse.
The fallen common now middle class man, representing us vs. The Corporate Billionare who represents the corporate greed that leads our economy to collapse.
It's a brillant reworking of the premise of Austin vs McMahon= Would you love to beat up your boss.
Fans alike lived vicariously through Steven Austin each week as he raged war and wouldnt take orders from his Boss Vince.
Fans so much liked it that it was in part the main reason WWE's attitude era revitalized WWE and wrestling in the late 90's.
This time around the premise and fantasy would be of the everyday working middle class, blaming the corporate greed and wrong doings which lead to our economic fall.
The once successful now fallen: JBL against the underhanded corporate greed that survives : Vince McMahon.
The Have's vs. The Have Not's.
What better way to tap into the volitate emotion of our nation's economic state then to play out a storyline that would surely get everyone talking and get alot of people to watch just to see the "rich" who would be perceived as the ones who caused the collapse get their come uppings.

Maybe just maybe it will take a economic disaster to finally get WWE the biggest storyline and ratings since the Austin McMahon era.
