Reggie Bush Headlines the Week Four Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings
Jamal CollierSep 24, 2008
These rankings are reflective of how this writer believes NFL players will perform, from a fantasy (ESPN) standard scoring perspective, in their current situations and Week Four Matchups.
- Reggie Bush, NO (vs SF). Another target down for Drew Brees could translate to more targets for Reggie Bush, if that's possible. Bush has been doing work in the running and passing facets of the game, and will continue to against the 49ers.
- Marshawn Lynch, BUF(@ STL). The Rams' defense is bad. Marshawn Lynch is not.
- Adrian Peterson, MIN (@ TEN). Peterson is an elite talent. The Titans are an elite defense, but Peterson should win this battle when he's in. Word is he's still limited in practice by his hamstring.
- Larry Johnson, KC(vs DEN). The Broncos are constantly looking for players to give yards to. They'll still win the game because of their explosive offense, but Larry Johnson will gladly accept the yardage, thus helping his fantasy owners.
- LaDainian Tomlinson, SD(@ OAK). Another AFC West matchup. LT gets to work back into 100% against the Raiders, who gave up 5 rushing touchdowns this season. They only yielded zero to the Chiefs, who abandoned the run after 12 carries by Larry Johnson.
- Frank Gore, SF (@ NO). The Saints are a generous defense that's been giving up healthy yardage on the ground and through the air. Frank Gore partakes in both.
- Jamal Lewis, CLE(@ CIN). A feature back in an offensively charged game, Lewis collected 350 yards from scrimmage with a touchdown against the Bengals last year.
- Maurice Jones-Drew, JAX(vs HOU). The Texans haven't exactly been stingy on the ground.
- Marion Barber, DAL (vs WAS). The closest back to Barber that the 'Skins have faced this year was Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs trucked them for 116 yards on 21 carries. Barber could see about the same workload on the ground, but should also get some catches. Expect him to score as well.
- Steven Jackson, STL(vs BUF). I think this is the week Jackson scores.
