Toronto Maple Leafs Trade Tomas Kaberle To Bruins for Joe Colborne and Picks
According to TSN, the Leafs have dealt defenseman Tomas Kaberle to the Boston Bruins in exchange for 6'5" center Joe Colborne, a first round pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick.
The trade call is expected to go through later today.
Kaberle was the only Leaf currently on the roster with playoff experience as a Maple Leaf, so this is obviously going to be a blow to any playoff chances the Leafs once had.

The power-play quarterback and the best puck-moving defenceman that the Leafs had since Borje Salming, Kaberle leaves the Leafs for Boston in hopes for another Stanley Cup run.
Currently leading the Leafs in assists, Kaberle will help lead the Bruins power play going forward, and will likely be the set-up guy for Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara on the power play most nights.
In Colborne, the Leafs receive this former first round pick who has drawn comparisons to one Joe Thornton. The Leafs also receive another first round pick from the Bruins. However, this is not their pick that the Leafs traded them, but the Bruins' own 2011 first rounder.
Kaberle is set to become an unrestricted free agent come July 1st, so this move may just be a rental for the Bruins. Something leads me to believe this move is not though.
Earlier in the summer, I wrote an article saying Kaberle could be dealt to the Bruins for Colbourne and a first, and most readers agreed with me. It looks like Brian Burke finally came on board with us.
