NFL: Does it make any sense this year?

Raider Card AddictSep 24, 2008

Maybe it's just me, or does Ed look like a Robin Williams double?

Maybe it's just this season.....stress gets to you.

I remember back in the preseason, there was rumors of the Chargers and Cowboys going to the super bowl. The Cowboys clearly have their work cut out for them....while the Chargers can thank Ed above, for one loss.

Right now, except for that one game, they'd be in first place. Ain't that a kick?

Speaking of which, it's a little shocking that the Raiders and Colts are both 1-2. Last week both clubs lost to field goals, Oakland's because they couldn't play anything but prevent defense, and the Colts....well, if you force the guy to kick it from 50+ yards....at least you make him work for the money.

Money well spent by Jacksonville, apparently.

Denver's right now holding up well, with two factors playing in their favor. 2 of their games were at home, and both were close matches. Granted, again, one bad call by a ref(ahem.), changes things radically...and Denver's 3-0.

New England, for it's string of wins, finally discovered, that their world can come to an abrupt stop. In this case, the Dolphins ran roughshod on them, for their first regular season loss in over 700 days. Yes, that's not a typo.

Should they be worried? I don't think so, as one game isn't going to sink a season.

Two teams that have to be wondering, has to be the Rams and Chiefs. The Rams hoped that last year was just a bad dream, and they'd wake up to better things. Kansas City, meanwhile, said adios to Jared Allen, who went to Minnesota.

Both teams right now, well, are tied for wins....and it's a bad thing when that's because both clubs are 0-3.

Cleveland, Cinci, Houston, and the Lions all are out for donuts.....and finally, some sanity in Detroit....Matt Millen is out as President for the club.

Now, about the only thing that would make this a real Twilight Zone flick, is if Al Davis hired him as GM in Oakland.

Oh the inhumanity!

Questions for this coming week:

Cinci vs Cleveland: Will someone win, or will they tie, and remain winless?

Houston vs Jacksonville: Can Houston get off the slide, and which Jacksonville team will show up, the one that beat Indy, or the team that the Bills beat?

Atlanta vs Carolina: Well, Carolina can be beaten....but will Atlanta be able to drop them to 2-2?

Denver vs Kansas City: Ok....Is there a mercy rule in the NFL?

49ers vs Saints: Good news for the Saints....they had a good showing against Denver. Now, can they finish the game good against the 49ers?

Arizona vs New York Jets: Ah, the joys of two old QBs facing off....is Viagra sponsoring this game?

Green Bay vs Tampa Bay: How well will Rodgers come back from his first loss in Lambeau? and we know what color Green is...what color is Tampa?

Minnesota vs Tennesee: Minnesota discovered that Gus Ferotte still has something. The Titans, do they think Collins can keep it coming?

Oakland vs San Diego: Oakland gets to show Darren McFadden off to the division's leader the last few seasons. Will Oakland's WR's finally show up for a game?

Buffalo vs St Louis: Could the Rams talk the airport officials to make the Bills land at a different airport? Don't see any other way for the Rams to win this one.

Washington vs Dallas: Romo's rolling along good, even if Owens isn't scoring each week. Is there a chance the Redskins could pick up some ideas during this game?

Philadelphia vs Chicago: Flip a coin? Philly looked good in each of their games, even against the Steelers....but again, this is Chicago, that went to Indy and upset the Colts.

Baltimore vs Pittsburgh: Can the Steelers work without Parker? And how many more spare parts can they find each week?

Going to be a creative week....Post a reply, have some fun, drink some coffee.
