NHL Hitz: Top Hits In The Game

Eddie TheisenJun 5, 2018

All this talk of Matt Cooke and cheap shots lately has gotten me tired of hearing about how hockey should change the physical aspect of the game.

Everyone in hockey loves the bone crunching hits you see and the aftermath that comes with it. Even people at games that know nothing of the game scream, "Hit em' into the wall!"

Here are some of the best hits hockey has to offer.

Brian Campbell On RJ Umberger

1 of 9

Umberger did what every player is taught not to do: Head down.

Byfuglien On Pronger

2 of 9

With Chris Pronger's size, we usually don't seem him horizontal.

Jordin Tootoo

3 of 9

Not a fan of Tootoo, but you can't deny the power of this hit.

Kronwall On Havlat

4 of 9

People by now should have learned to stay away from the Kron-wall. Sad thing is Kronwall got a "5" and a game for this beautiful hit.

(Bettman) cough.

Tucker On Kapanen

5 of 9

Tucker absolutely obliterates Kapanen. I think every fan of the game remembers this hit.

Konstantinov On Lemieux

6 of 9

Vlady drills one of the least favorite people to ever come into Hockeytown.

Stevens On Kariya

7 of 9

Stevens infamous hit on Paul Kariya in the 2003 Finals, though this hit is debatable as dirty.

Phaneuf On Okposo

8 of 9

Phaneuf drills Okposo and even though it was regular season, you can clearly see they don't care that the game doesn't matter.

Brown On Hudler

9 of 9

I put this on here as this is the type of hit the league is trying to get rid of: a split-second too late and to the head. Brown was given a "5" and a game.

Was it dirty? You be the judge.
