NFL Labor News: NFL Tweets Wall Street Journal Report, NFL Revenues Flatten

Jordan WallingFeb 17, 2011

In an attempt to support their position in the labor dispute with the NFLPA, the NFL tweeted  an article today that appears to show NFL revenue concerns.  You be the judge:  http://tinyurl.com/6hwp7o9.

This comes as labor talks have screeched to a halt and with the CBA set to expire in 14 days.  It is becoming clearer each day that both sides have no intent on solving this issue before the deadline, with reports stating that the NFL must allow the CBA to expire in order to change the location of future hearings.

The league believes that, when the current CBA expires, the NFL will escape the "so called" biased rulings of Judge David Doty.

Judge Doty is the same judge that ruled that Michael Vick can keep his prepaid contract money after going to prison and not fulfilling his end of the contract.

The current labor deal actually was the settlement agreement of the antitrust lawsuit filed by the players after the 1987 strike.  The league has felt harassed by Doty’s rulings and have tried to have him removed for ruling too many times in favor of the players.

So don't expect a deal to be struck by the deadline.

Also, I have written a previous article offering solutions and calling for the fans to provide their own solutions to the labor dispute.  You can read it here.
