NFL Two-A-Days: The 2011 Offseason Preview for the Arizona Cardinals

Ryan FryeFeb 16, 2011

5. Do the Cardinals have their QB of the future on the roster?

No. John Skelton, Derek Anderson and Max Hall aren't long-term solutions, I'm sorry.

Hall and Skelton were drafted late in last year's draft and I don't see them being the franchise quarterback for anybody within the next couple of years. I do think Hall could eventually start on a team.

Anderson had his shot, but he failed.

The Cardinals should be looking for a quarterback this offseason.

4. Who is Arizona's best offensive player other than Larry Fitzgerald?

Tim Hightower was the team's leading rusher with under 800 yards all season. That is pretty sad, so he's not the answer here.

Steve Breaston is really the only option here. He is the No. 2 receiver behind Fitzgerald and the Cardinals don't have any other strong points on the offensive side of the ball.

3. Who is currently the Cardinals best defensive playmaker?

I hate to keep agreeing with Mike Golic, so instead of Adrian Wilson, I've got another name.

How about Paris Lenon? Yes, I said Paris Lenon.

He led the team with 125 tackles in 2010 and two sacks. He also had two interceptions and a forced fumble. The guy is a tackling machine, but is still a relative unknown.

2. What is the Cardinals No. 1 priority in the draft and/or free agency?

I mentioned it earlier, it's got be a quarterback.

With Kurt Warner at the helm, the Cardinals made the playoffs, and even reached the Super Bowl in 2008. Without him? Well...they hold the fifth pick in this year's draft.

It seems as if the pick will be Blaine Gabbert. Although, with such a bad division, an established quarterback could lead them to a NFC West title.

Von Miller would be the second option here.

1. Stock: Rising or Falling?

This is tough. I don't see a ton of talent on the roster, but 8-8 could win the NFC West.

I'm going to do something a sports writer should never do: assume.

I will assume they will get a decent quarterback this offseason. Instead of pushing, I'll say the stock is rising.

I'm 15 and a volunteer scout for the Atlanta Falcons.

The idea originated from ESPN's Mike and Mike and this series will continue later today with the Cleveland Browns.
