Manny Pacquiao Causes Traffic Accident While On Way To White House To Meet Obama

Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee were practically mobbed by passionate fans and members of media near the White House in Washington D.C. on his way to see US President Barack Obama.

Due to their eagerness to come closer to the pound-for-pound king while he and wife Jinkee were negotiating their way to the White House, a series of car accidents happened after fans took turns in taking photos of the couple.

Pacquiao's Canadian adviser, Michael Koncz, who is accompanying Manny Pacquiao on his US press tour, said Pacquiao's presence outside the White House caused heavy traffic in the area, Fanhouse.com reports.

"We're standing on the corner across from the White House entrance way, and couple of ladies were taking pictures while they were driving, and then, another guy took a picture while they were driving," Koncz explained.

"And it caused a three-car accident—unbelievable. Manny was standing on the corner waiting to cross the street, and we were standing at the entrance way," said Koncz. "Fortunately, there was only car damage. Everyone got out of their cars and it seems like no one was injured."

Earlier, Pacquiao was ushered in to the halls of the US Senate as guest by Nevada Senator Harry Reid, who made arrangements for Pacquiao to meet with President Obama at the White House.

Pacquaio and American boxer Shane Mosley are scheduled to fight on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas Nevada.

Mosley and Pacquiao are on their last leg of a four-state promotional tour that brought them to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.

After his meeting with the US President, Pacquiao is going back to Los Angeles on his way to the Philippines, where he will prepare for a four-week training in Baguio City with his long-time trainer, Freddie Roach.

It was earlier reported Pacquiao will meet with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and teen idol Justin Bieber for a possible basketball game with the NBA-All Stars on February 19.
