NFL Two-A-Days: Previewing the 2011 Offseason For the Buffalo Bills

Ryan FryeFeb 15, 2011

5. Is Ryan Fitzpatrick a QB the Bills can build around?

Fitzpatrick is a very smart player, but I don't believe he has the physical tools to be a franchise quarterback. He is more of a game manager type; which isn't a bad thing, but I wouldn't build a franchise around him.

4. Did RB C.J. Spiler earn a passing grade in his rookie year?

As a running back, Spiler didn't get the oppritunity to earn a passing grade. He only had 76 carries for 283 yards.

As a kick returner, Spiler did a superb job.

The issue here is he doesn't have anything around him on offense. He shouldn't have been their pick with all the other needs that they had.

If he got a grade for his rookie season, it would be an incomplete.

3. What area is most needed on the Bills' defense?

They need help stopping the run. In 2010, they ranked dead last in opponent's rushing yards per game.

A big, run stuffing defensive tackle would fit the bill perfectly here. And I know just the man for the job...

2. What is the Bills' number one priority in the NFL Draft and/or Free Agency?

The guy I was just referring to, is former Alabama defensive tackle, Marcell Dareus. Dareus would solve the run defense problem by filling a major gap on Buffalo's defensive line.

Von Miller is another option. Miller is a very versatile and athletic player. He can makes play against the run and versus the pass.

The last option is a left tackle, who at the moment would be Nate Solder. Solder is rated as the top offensive tackle in the draft as of now. Buffalo needs a left tackle badly.

1. Stock: Rising or Falling?

This is a tough one. The Bills play really hard but lack the overall talent to go very far. They aren't making it out of last place of the AFC East, so when I say the stock is rising, it's only slightly doing so.

This idea originated from ESPN's Mike and Mike. Stay tuned for my Cincinnati Bengals Two-A-Days.
