In Case Anyone Cares: Analysis Of The First One Hour, 57 Minutes Of WWE Raw

Evan FeinFeb 15, 2011

Rumor has it, that prior to the greatest mark out moment in wrestling history, WWE superstars and diva's put on an episode of Raw that lasted about one hour and 57 minutes.

Among the participants in the show were John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk and the New Nexus and King Sheamus.

Though my memory of these events is foggy, I will try to analyze the significance of this show and figure out what it could mean for the Elimination Chamber. CM Punk is officially the most complete character on the WWE roster.

He managed to defeat John Cena to open the show, albeit with the use of a wrench. Even using a weapon, it bodes well that WWE creative gave Punk a win over Cena without direct help from anyone else.

The cult leader has now won 3 straight decisions over the face of the company. I believe Punk is primed for a match with Randy Orton at Wrestlemania, with a title run developing by Over the Limit.

The Diva's division continues to be confusing with no character development whatsoever. The lumberjill match between Eve and Natalya was a joke.

Who were the heels? Who were the faces? I couldn't tell what was going on. Is Melina even a significant part of the division anymore?

The best female character in the WWE is by far Vicke Guerrero. The Miz's promo on Jerry the King Lawler where he told King not to use his mother's death as an excuse for losing at the Elimination Chamber bordered on bad taste, but I don't think it crossed the line.

Speaking of the Miz, wasn't he jobbing to Daniel Bryan every other week a few months ago? I guess creative wants to give him some credibility as WWE champion. What I don't like about the Miz-Lawler fued is that it makes it pretty obvious that Cena will win the Raw Elimination chamber.

The Hornswoggle/Khali/chaperone co-star segment was one of the creepiest things I've witnessed in recent memory. The WWE spilled the beans on the 2.21.11 video, showing half of the Undertaker's body.

I don't really believe the Sting rumors, but this makes me more inclined to think they might be true. Why would the WWE spoil next weeks' surprise if they didn't have a bigger one in store? Randy Orton made short work of Sheamus in the main event.

Expect Sheamus to be among the first 2 eliminated this Sunday. Yes, I'm predicting he will go before R-truth. I kind of want Orton to get a win in an elimination chamber match, but I just don't see it happening.

I think Orton/Punk would be a better title match than Cena/Miz. What did you think of the first 1:57 of Raw? What do you think it means for the Elimination Chamber pay per view?
