Top 10 Weakest Goals Given Up In NHL History
We all remember the goals our team has scored that weren't good and you think it's just the skill your players have. Then there are the goals your team gives up that end up costing you, and you say how the other team just got lucky. Let's take a look at the some of the softest goals given up in NHL history.
10. Jimmy Howard
1 of 10The Red Wings were down 2-0 in the series against San Jose and needed the win to get back in the series. With just under seven minutes to play the Red Wings held a 3-2 lead and just needed to fend off the goal hungry Sharks, but then Howard lets them swim right back into the game and they eventually won in overtime to get a 3-0 series lead.
9. Chris Osgood
2 of 10The man known simply as "Ozzie" in Detroit got his chance to show his was No. 1 in Detroit, but as the video shows, at the time he was only ready for golf season.
8. Pekka Rinne
3 of 10The Predators in the 2008 playoffs trailed Detroit 3-2 in the series and were tied 0-0 halfway through the game. But Rinne lets in a softie, and the rest is history for the Red Wings
7. Keith Ballard
4 of 10Not that this one had more importance than the previous ones. I think it is just hilarious as this sums up the past nine seasons for the cats in Florida as Ballard bats it into his own net.
6. Marc Bergevin
5 of 10In the 2000 playoffs, Marc Bergevin looks like he is trying for the Rams as he puts this throw right on the money.
5. Patrick Roy
6 of 10Patrick Roy gets caught trying to rub it in as the Wings hit in the rebound. This play is also known as "The Statue of Liberty." I knew the French gave the Statue of Liberty to the U.S.A., but I never knew the French Canadians did?
4. Jimmy Howard Part II
7 of 10Is it me or is there a trend between the Detroit Red Wings and bad goals? Anyways Howard with another blunder, but as you can see this one wasn't as serious.
3. Dan Boyle
8 of 10Dan Boyle with a crucial goal to go down 2-1 in the series against the Avalanche. It seemed like a goal like this would end this 0-0 tie, though Boyle and the Sharks would get the last laugh winning the series in six.
2. Chris Phillips
9 of 10This seemed to be the dagger for the Ottawa Senators in the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. Down 3-1 in the series and 2-1 in the game, Phillips I think was looking to make the game 2-2... not 3-1.
1. Vesa Toskala
10 of 10I think this shot proved to be the end of Toskala in Toronto. It also sums up the bounces and breaks throughout his career as this is the longest goal I have ever seen in the NHL.
