Green Bay Packers: Is Aaron Rodgers the Anointed One?
The lineage goes something like this: Bart Starr, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers.
After Sunday's monumental victory, there's no question that that's indeed the case. The Green Bay Packers are back where they belong and so is the Lombardi Trophy. Without Aaron Rodgers, none of that is even remotely possible.
En route to a Super Bowl MVP Award, Rodgers picked on Pittsburgh's inept cornerback William Gay. It seemed as if every big play was a missed coverage by Gay. Apparently, like many NFL corners, Gay's been hit or miss throughout much of the season for the Steelers.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Rodgers admirably waited his turn for three years under the tutelage of Favre before making waves in Green Bay. Over the past three years, Rodgers has established himself as an elite NFL signal-caller. When you mention Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger, don't you dare forget to mention Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers is just getting started at 27. The Cal product has more than arrived in Green Bay and has shown the NFL what he's truly made of. Rodgers is now the undisputed world champion as the WWE World Heavyweight Title entailed the other night on the grand stage in Dallas.
Someday, perhaps Rodgers will be in a class of his own. His numbers speak for themselves and now like so few quarterbacks in the NFL, he has a Super Bowl attached to his name forever. The Packers are young enough and have enough talent to win more titles within the next few seasons, possibly creating another dynasty.
Green Bay certainly knew what they were doing when they surprisingly took Rodgers early on in the NFL Draft in 2005. With the 24th overall pick, the Packers took their next franchise quarterback who would play the waiting game behind Favre, a man who hadn't sat in about 13 years at that point.
Rodgers has now stamped his legacy in Green Bay and the rest of the NFL for that matter. Coincidentally, he may have held off Ben Roethlisberger's punching his own personal ticket to the Hall of Fame off for another year. Roethlisberger legitimately would have cemented his case for NFL immortality on that final drive of Super Bowl XLV.
Today, the Packers' stellar season culminated with a victory parade in Green Bay. The town has waited nearly a decade and a half for a winner and has one now in Rodgers and the Packers. They might have to get used to this sort of thing again.
Rodgers is a traditional gunslinger in every sense of the word. The Packers have provided him with the necessary weapons to succeed. Even though many of them went on IR this season, it still ended in a big celebration amidst a sea of confetti under the Dallas night.
Though he seldom gets enough credit for it, Rodgers may be the second best running quarterback in the NFL behind Michael Vick. Over the past three seasons, he's rushed for 879 yards and 13 touchdowns.
There are only about seven (including Favre) active starting quarterbacks with a Super Bowl ring—Aaron Rodgers is now one of them.
