What I Learned About The Eagles Watching Them Play Dallas
Its Week 3 and many people are still questioning Philly's ability to be a contender this year, but I learned three things from their loss against the Cowboys.
1) Desean Jackson's performance in the long run is going to define what kind of team Philly becomes. Okay so what he dropped the ball before he got into the end zone? He's human, I was not mad that he did it because we got the ball back but even if we lost the ball, I would not be mad at the guy. He is speedy and scary in the open field and if his success continues, Philly will fly!

2) Donovan McNabb is back! He went 25-37 and 281 yards and a touchdown, 2 touchdown passes if Desean keeps the ball. I did not see the hesitant quarterback I have watched in the past few seasons but instead I saw a quarterback who trusts his line and receivers and confidently led Philly in this game until a miscue caused a fumble but its only Week 2 and hey, it happens!
3) Our defense is good! Yeah we gave up 41 points but we shut down TO in the 2nd half, I wish we could have made the adjustments needed to keep Jason Witten in check and not have Brian Dawkins chasing him down but guys standout on our defense. If we put pressure on teams every game like we did today against Pittsburgh, we hold teams to low scoring games. Omar Gaither looks very comfortable at the linebacker position and Quintin Mikell is becoming an excellent safety and I feel like he can handle himself.
I know in order to be great, we have to come up with victories as we should have against Dallasbut I mean we play Dallas again so we can still avenge the loss. Then, people say St. Louis is a bad team but I mean they're pros too so if they show up to play, we can kill them and still talk trash about them. Its early, very early, and honestly, Philly surprised me by their performance against Dallas especially on the road. Dallas turned up the heat and Philly brought a heat of their own and kept having an answer to everything Dallas did. Keep hope alive, I want to see Philly succeed and I think they will. The sky is the limit for this year's team.
