Super Bowl 2011: 10 National Anthem Performers Better Than Christina Aguilera

April WeinerMay 31, 2018

Christina Aguilera looks like she's in pain in this picture of her singing the National Anthem at last night's Super Bowl XLV. She wasn't the only one in pain. Most people listening were in pain, too.

Christina Aguilera has a beautiful voice. You wouldn't expect such a small woman to produce such a resounding voice. But her rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner last night left a lot to be desired.

There's a time and a place to show off your vocal cords by adding flair to the words. But before you spice it up, you should probably make sure you know all of the words.

Then, we're all excited for the main event. We all love our country, but we're all itching to get through the National Anthem to get to the game. That doesn't make us bad Americans; we're just impatient. So try to get it over with quickly, not elongate it. Advice for next time.

Here are the top 10 National Anthem performers that were better than Christina and would have been better last night.

10. Jordin Sparks, Super Bowl XLII

Jordin Sparks is no stranger to the football field. Her father is a former NFL cornerback.

The 18-year-old Sparks performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLII in 2008. She must have been nervous in front of such a huge crowd, but she rocked it.

The day after, it was revealed that the singer had prerecorded the Anthem and lip-synched it live. Still, Hudson has an amazing voice and it was a great rendition.
