NFL Week Three Predictions

MJ KasprzakSep 20, 2008

The New York Giants are the safest pick for the second week in a row, but the winner of the Packers-Cowboys Sunday night match-up will be considered the best team in the NFC.

Here are my week three picks, in order from least to most certain to win:

  1. Eagles: the winner of this game needs to be considered a Superbowl contender.
  2. Vikings: even with getting Smith back, the Vikings look better than the Panthers on paper--the question is do things even out or are were we wrong?
  3. Buccaneers: without Hester, the Bears have no one who can score.
  4. Cowboys: they just have the more established team.
  5. Falcons: would never have seen the league's worst team on paper coming into the season going 2-1!
  6. Cardinals: this offense is scary, and the defense can keep the Offensively Named Ones weak offense down enough to win.
  7. Broncos: if I hear anyone else talk about Mr. Dropsies leading Denver so well when he really lost them that game against San Diego, I'll vomit.
  8. Forty-Niners: but be careful--the Lions know coordinator Mike Martz better than he knows their new offense, and he won't have time to help the defense game-plan, anyway.
  9. Titans: still better off with Collins.
  10. Colts: got offense on track last week, and unlike the Jags offensive line, they are starting to get healthy.
  11. Browns: good teams find a way to win these games, so we'll find out if they're for real.
  12. Chargers: 0-2 looks a lot better than Jets 1-1...Favre was outplayed by a guy who hasn't started since high school.
  13. Seahawks: if they don't beat the Rams soundly, they're not a playoff team.
  14. Bills: they have a chance to be the team to beat in their division if they win this one they are supposed to.
  15. Patriots: without Brady, they beat the Jets in New York, who beat the Dolphins in Miami; hard to see them losing this one now that Cassell has that first start out of the way.
  16. Giants: will Marvin Lewis make it through the season?
