Miami Dolphins Front Office: Too Much Concern About Stadium and Not The Team
I am getting a little worn out complaining about the Miami Dolphins front office, but they just keep giving me reasons to complain.
The latest infraction: Dolphins CEO Mike Dee focusing so much attention on a $200 million stadium upgrade.
This is a crucial time in an NFL offseason and all the "bigwigs" are concerned with is sending people all over to lobby for hotel bed tax dollars.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The whole state of Florida is struggling as it is to attract tourists due to high gas prices and the BP oil spill that washed up on Florida shores.
This is also after the Florida Marlins played a sympathy card to South Florida to secure millions of tax dollars.
Now, the Dolphins want to make it even more expensive to come visit South Florida hotels.
The Dolphins have followed the Marlins' footsteps and started playing a sympathy card. The team cannot pay for the $200 million upgrade because they just bought the team and the NFL does not allow a team to take on debt past a certain point.
That is fine with me. Pay off your debt and pay for your upgrades yourself. It is absurd to ask taxes to pay for this.
Now, some of the upgrades I am all for doing because they are needed.
Upgrading the stadium lights is greatly needed. The lights are from the original system put in back in the 1980s.
The upgrade of putting in more seats closer to the field is an excellent idea. The Sun Life Stadium seats are probably the farthest from the field in the NFL.
However, the upgrade of putting a partial roof on the stadium is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.
First of all, you want to basically put a parachute on top a stadium that is located in hurricane central. Is it just me, or does that sound like a disaster waiting to happen?
Secondly, the drawing of what it would look like is ugly as all sin. It makes Sun Life Stadium look like a sandwich.
The point of all these upgrades, according to Dee, is to increase the stadium's shelf life 30 more years and to help secure Super Bowls every five years for Miami.
In my opinion, save the money, and in a few years down the road, build a new stadium.
The fact of the matter is the NFL is always going to ask the Dolphins to upgrade the stadium because it was built in the 1980s. So save the money and just wait to build a new one. It will be the better financial decision in the long-run.
The NFL is going to come to Miami for Super Bowls no matter what. It is nationally known that Miami is one of the best places for a Super Bowl (just look at the ESPN guys freezing in Dallas). There would be an uproar if the NFL keeps picking Indy and New York over Miami.
One of the worst parts? This tax raise for stadium upgrades will not come to a public vote. It is all up to the politicians South Florida residents elected to approve it.
Do not let the NFL control you, Mr. Dee. Stop focusing so much time and effort on something that is not needed and focus on improving the team.
