MMA: Power Ranking the Undefeated Octagon Fighters

Undefeated fighters always have a sort of mystique around them.

Some fighters go undefeated their entire careers, some go undefeated in certain organizations, others just have tons of defeats.

Here is a power ranking of all the fighters who are undefeated inside the Octagon.

Note: WEC records count.

Second Note: Minimum 3 fights.

Third Note: Only UFC/WEC records.

Honorable Mention: Jon Jones

Jon Jones is a light heavyweight who should be undefeated according to Dana White.

He is 11-1 in his MMA career and is 5-1 inside the Octagon, with his only loss coming via controversial DQ.

He fights Ryan Bader this Saturday at UFC 126.

14. Kamal Shalorus

Kamal Shalorus is a lightweight, and a recent WEC addition to the UFC roster.

He is 7-0-2 in his MMA career, and 3-0-1 in the Octagon.

He makes his UFC debut against Jim Miller at UFC 128.

13. Jon Madsen

Jon Madsen (7-0, 4-0 UFC) is a heavyweight, and was a cast member on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter. In the house, he lost against Brendan Schaub in the quarterfinals.

He returns to the Octagon against Mike Russow, at UFC Fight Night: Ortiz vs. Nogueira.

12. Matt Mitrione

Matt "Meathead" Mitrione is a heavyweight who has a professional record of 4-0 overall, and he has spent his entire career inside the Octagon.

Mitrione was a contestant on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter, and while in the house, he lost to James McSweeny via guillotine choke.

Mitrione just recently stopped Tim Hague via TKO in 2:59 at UFC Fight For The Troops 2. His next fight is yet to be announced.

11. Chad Mendes

Chad Mendes is another WEC addition, he is a featherweight who holds a professional record of 9-0, with 4 of those wins coming inside the Octagon.

Mendes makes his official UFC debut Saturday night, at UFC 126, against Michihiro Omigawa.

10. Nik Lentz

Nik Lentz has been around for awhile. He is a lightweight with a professional MMA record of 20-3-2, and he is 4-0-1 in the UFC.

He was most recently seen getting a split decision over Tyson Griffin at UFC 123. His next fight is yet to be announced.

9. Dong-Hyun Kim

Dong-Hyun Kim is a welterweight who holds a professional record of 14-0-1 (1 NC). He is 5-0 (1 NC) inside the UFC.

He was most recently seen dispatching of Nate Diaz in a 3 round unanimous decision victory. His next fight is yet to be announced, although his name is Stun-Gun, and he wants GSP.

8. Phil Davis

Phil Davis is an up and coming star in the light heavyweight division. Davis is 8-0 in his MMA career, and is 4-0 in the UFC.

His next fight will be against Matt "The Hammer" Hamill at UFC 129.

7. Ryan Bader

Ryan "Darth" Bader is another up and comer in the light heavyweight division. He was the season 8 winner of The Ultimate Fighter, and has a professional MMA record of 12-0, with a UFC record of 5-0.

His next fight will be Saturday night, against Johnny "Bones" Jones.

6. George Sotiropoulos

George Sotiropoulos is a lightweight in the UFC. He has a professional MMA record of 14-2, and is 7-0 in the UFC.

His next fight will be later this month, against Dennis Siver at UFC 127.

5. Junior Dos Santos

Junior dos Santos was the former number one contender to the heavyweight title. He is 12-1 in his MMA career, and is 6-0 in his UFC career.

In his last fight, he defeated Roy Nelson to become the number one contender to the title. Unfortunately, an injury to the champ would have caused a long layoff, to which JDS said "no way".

dos Santos is currently coaching opposite Brock Lesnar on the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The two are expected to meet at UFC 131, with the winner getting a crack at the title.

4. Gray Maynard

Gray Maynard is a lightweight, and is the only person to hold a victory over current Lightweight Champion, Frankie Edgar.

Maynard has a professional MMA record of 10-0-1 (1 NC), and is 8-0-1 (1 NC) in the UFC.

He was most recently seen fighting to a 5 round split draw against Frankie Edgar for the Lightweight Championship.

The two will meet for a third time, again for the belt, at UFC 130 in May.

3. Jose Aldo

Jose Aldo is another newcomer from the WEC and is the current UFC, former WEC, Featherweight Champion.

He has a professional MMA record of 18-1, and is 8-0 in the WEC.

Although he was originally supposed to make his UFC debut at UFC 125, he will instead face off against Mark Hominick at UFC 129 for the Featherweight title.

2. Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. He has a professional MMA record of 9-0, with 7 of those wins coming inside the Octagon.

In his last fight, he won the Heavyweight title from Brock Lesnar in devastating fashion.

He is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, but after Junior dos Santos and Brock Lesnar do battle, he will defend his title against the winner.

Anderson Silva is the current UFC Middleweight Champion has a professional MMA record of 27-4, and is 12-0 in the UFC.

There has never been a more consistent fighter inside the Octagon. He holds the record for longest win streak, for most title defenses, and most consecutive title defenses.

He puts his belt on the line again Saturday night at UFC 126 against Vitor Belfort.
