College Football Week Four Predictions: Spread and Straight Up
In Week Three, I went 6-4-1 against the spread and 9-2 straight up. Not a bad week. Now I am 10-12-1 against the spread and 26-8 straight up for the season.
Friday
Baylor at Connecticut (-12.5)
UConn is coming off a big win against Virginia, while Baylor had a big win against Washington St. last week. Like I said last week, I really like this Robert Griffin kid. He will lead the Bears to victory.
Winner: (Spread) Baylor; (Straight Up) Baylor
Saturday
Wyoming at BYU (-28.5)
BYU dropped half-a-hundred on UCLA last week—enough said.
Winner: (Spread) BYU; (Straight Up) BYU
LSU at Auburn (+2.5)
Auburn squeaked by Mississippi St. last week 3-2 behind excellent defensive play. LSU's QB Andrew Hatch has not been tested by a tough defense yet. Auburn's defense will be too much for LSU, and they will put up just enough points to win.
Winner: (Spread) Auburn; (Straight Up) Auburn
Alabama at Arkansas (+9.5)
'Bama has looked great so far this season, while Arkansas has struggled to put up points.
Winner: (Spread) Alabama; (Straight Up) Alabama
Wake Forest at Florida State (-4)
FSU has two wins over FCS opponents, so nobody really knows a lot about them. What I do know is, last time Wake won 30-0, and you can't expect FSU to not come out fired up. I just have a gut feeling about FSU.
Winner: (Spread) FSU; (Straight Up) FSU
Miami at Texas A&M (+3.5)
Miami looked good against Florida two weeks ago, and Texas A&M hasn't really done anything so far this season.
Winner: (Spread) Miami; (Straight Up) Miami
East Carolina at N.C. State (+7.5)
ECU looked a little sluggish last week against Tulane, while NC State lost to Clemson. ECU will come back with a big win this week because they always get up for these out of conference games against teams from their state.
Winner: (Spread) East Carolina; (Straight Up) East Carolina
Florida at Tennessee (+7.5)
The Gators have way too much firepower for the Vols.
Winner: (Spread) Florida; (Straight Up) Florida
Georgia at Arizona State (+7)
The 'Dawgs are coming off a sluggish win over South Carolina, while the Devils were beaten by UNLV last week. The time change and travel will keep this game close for a while, along with ASU coming back fired up. Georgia wants to come out and prove that last week's performance was a fluke.
Winner: (Spread) Georgia; (Straight Up) Georgia
