TNA IMPACT! Slamback: The King Returns...With The Hardcore Legend!
At No Surrender, TNA proved that it not only as good as WWE...it was better. Last night on IMPACT!, TNA crossed the line once again in impressive fashion. With that said, here's a recap of TNA IMPACT!
To Live and Die...Solo?
After her actions at No Surrender left Salinas on the shelf, Jacqueline continued her rampage of the Latino Nation by going after Hector Guerrero. This only led to a sneak attack by Beer Money. But before they could inflict anymore damage, the TNA World Tag Team Champions were run off by LAX. But just when things couldn't get anymore bizarre, Knockouts Boss Traci Brooks demanded the presence of Jackie and Guerrero in Jim Cornette's office.
In Cornette's office, Brooks had finally had enough of Jacqueline's interference in LAX. So to fix the problem, she set up a six person tag match for next week on IMPACT! It will be the team of LAX and Hector Guerrero taking on all three members of Beer Money. The catch: the losing team loses more than the match...they lose their manager as well.
To the losing team, I say this: Sorry About Your Damn Luck!
Line in the Sand: Veterans vs. Up and Comers
For months, Sting has made it clear that respect does not exist in TNA. From Samoa Joe to AJ Styles, the young studs of TNA have been on a rampage. In Sting's eyes, their spoiled brats, but in Jeff Jarrett's eyes, they're the future of TNA. Thursday night, the young studs took another step towards stepping out of the limelight of the older generation.
Following a loss to Christian Cage and AJ Styles, the Motor City Machine Guns showed respect to their young counterpart Styles, but gave Cage a one-finger salute. In the back, Cage and Styles were at odds about Styles' involvement (or lack thereof) in the aftermath of the tag match. But Cage wasn't the only veteran who had to deal with the "brats" of TNA.
Booker T felt that "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal was insulting "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the moniker that he has been throwing around for over a year. After getting screwed by his former skank SoCal Val, Lethal was not in the best of moves when he had his match against Booker later that night. Despite a hard fought effort, Lethal couldn't defeat both Booker and his wife Sharmell. But the worst is yet to come for Lethal...Val and Sonjay Dutt are expected to be in the IMPACT! Zone next week.
You Felt The Stroke...Now Feel The Bang Bang!
At the beginning of the night, Samoa Joe made it clear that it was young guys like Styles and him that made TNA what it is today. He promised that at Bound For Glory, he would stick his foot as far up Sting's @$$ as possible. Despite all the anarchy that transpired at No Surrender, it was Kurt Angle who was beyond irate on Thursday night. And he was intent on making sure that the man responsible for his irate attitude knew it.
At the end of the night, TNA IMPACT! saw the official return of The King of The Mountain Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett came out and thanked God, his late wife Jill, and all the fans of TNA for their continued support of his creation. He then called out Sting and proceeded to call Sting out in regards to his actions. He said that Sting was "full of crap" and should be showing these young guys how to be better, not beating them senseless. But as Jarrett continued to give Sting a taste of his own medicine, Kurt Angle came out to confront the boss.
Angle told Jarrett that it was The Olympic Champion that kept the company going for those two years that he was away on personal business. He went on to call Jarrett over the hill and challenge him to a match at Bound IV Glory. After Jarrett declined the invitation, Angle began to push The King to the point of no return. But Double J didn't get to where he is by being an idiot, which explains his next move. After months of speculation and rumors, Jarrett said that Angle didn't want any of this dogfight, but...
Jarrett then pointed towards the screen and a familiar sight graced the screen as a smiling face covered in barb wire popped up. Then it became reality as Mick Foley waved to the IMPACT! crowd and made Jarrett's message loud and clear:
"What Jeff is saying Kurt is: Oh It's Real! It's Damn Real! BANG BANG!"
Mick Foley is officially with TNA, and this whole respect thing that's going on may have met its match in the form of The Hardcore Legend.
