NFL Week Three Power Rankings

Lee JohnsonSep 18, 2008

Every season there are teams that don’t fare as well as we expected and teams that seem to come out of nowhere.  It usually takes a few weeks to sort out, but this year we are already getting an idea of who these teams are.  This week the Power Rankings have quite a bit of movement.

1) Dallas Cowboys

The scariest thing about the Cowboys is that they make it look so damned easy.  The offense is clicking and they don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.  Marion Barber is looking awesome as the lead man at running back.  Another test comes this week with Green Bay, another prime time treat for us this season.

2) New York Giants

Despite the Super Bowl win it was hard for people to shake who the Giants were in the regular season in 2007.  They are starting to make some doubters doubt themselves.  The defense seems to be staying on task regardless of the changes and Eli Manning looks like a man on a mission rather than a deer in the headlights.

3) Pittsburgh Steelers

Everyone, including the Steelers, expected a little more against the Browns.  The weather was bad so we can forgive.  Big Ben is hurting but going to play.  Willie Parker is looking like a guy who is making a statement after being insulted by the offer of a first round pick for someone at his position.

4) Green Bay Packers

The Packers took their foot off the gas a bit on the Lions last week and it almost cost them.  I'm pretty sure you won’t see any coasting, no matter what the lead is, if they can get one against the Cowboys.  Aaron Rodgers continues to make his move into being accepted.

***In other Jabber, we had Adam from AdamsFootballTrip.com on Football Jabber Radio.  Check out some of his tales from the road while taking in 35 NFL games around the NFL, Canada, and London.  Strangest thing he has seen yet in five games comes from Green Bay…

Adam is at the 28 Minute mark…
