College Football Pick'em: The Ten Best Games of Week 4

Welcome to the week 4 edition of College Football Pick’em:  The Ten Best Games of the Week.  Last week’s picks toppled like the tree in my front yard during the wind storm that battered the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area this past Sunday. 

A 5-5 record for the week is very sub-par and is not acceptable here.  That brings the season record to 20-10, good but it should be better.

I’ll keep cutting away, cleaning up the debris from the past weekend in an attempt to salvage the yard and my picking credibility.

You grab your favorite beverage and I’ll grab my hand saw (would kill for a chainsaw) because here are your ten best games this week in college football.

LSU at Auburn

Winner-Auburn, 17-10.  Auburn gets the win in this defensive struggle.  They won’t need extra innings to win this week.  They set the bar in the SEC West division.

*Game of the Week*

Georgia at Arizona State

Winner-Georgia, 21-20.  The Bulldogs travel outside of the south for the first time in a long time and sneak away with an ugly win.  Arizona State will put up a fight but will come up just short.

Florida at Tennessee

Winner-Florida, 28-17.  This pick goes against everything I stand for as a football fan.  But the reality is the Gators will win this one.  The fact that the Gators said the Vols quit in last years game won’t be enough motivation to carry them.

West Virginia at Colorado

Winner-Colorado, 24-10.  WVU continues their downslide in this game.  Expect a big game from the son of the Colorado head coach.

Miami (OH) at Cincinnati

Winner-Cincinnati, 30-21.  The Bearcats win the battle of the Victory Bell.  It won’t be as close as it seems. 

Boise State at Oregon 

Winner-Boise State, 48-45.  Questions about the quarterback in Oregon doesn’t stop them from almost pulling this one off.  The Broncos win this one and help cement their name as giant killers.  Ian Johnson may rush for over 200 yards here.

Virginia Tech at North Carolina

Winner-North Carolina, 35-24.  The Heels keep the momentum from last weeks win over Rutgers going.  This will be the beginning of UNC making a push in the ACC.  Watch for Yates to Tate all day long.

Utah at Air Force

Winner-Utah, 40-35.  Utah keeps the undefeated season going ahead into the heart of the Mountain West schedule.  Air Force keeps it interesting, but falls off late.

Alabama at Arkansas

Winner-Arkansas, 24-21.  The Razorbacks take this battle of outcast NFL coaches.  ‘Bama is good but they get knocked down to earth by a late field goal.

Wake Forest at Florida State:  Winner-Wake Forest, 28-20.  FSU looks good in this game but Wake is not Chattanooga.  The Deamon Deacons take the lead early and never look back

There you have it, your ten best games of the week.  Enjoy your games while I keep chopping wood.  At least I’ll have some good firewood for when winter hits.  Enjoy
