Super Bowl XLV: Steelers and Packers Preview: Both Sides of the Coin!

Thomas MorelandJan 26, 2011

Thank You to the NFL for a pretty great season filled with surprises, let downs, and a good match up in this 45th Super Bowl featuring two of the best franchises in pro-football.

The Steelers have of course, marched back to the Super Bowl in customary fashion, running the ball, having the most intense defense in the league, and now a quarterback that will not lose a close game in the end.

Catching those balls and getting open while people have a rough time knocking down Big Ben also helps immensely.

The Packers have also had a dominant defense most of the season only giving up approximately 14 pts or less per game down the stretch..

Aaron Rodgers is ultra hot right now, but will the two weeks down time play it's toll?

The Vegas line on this game is the Packers by 3.5 pts.

The Green Bay Packers must start early and get a lead. If they try to run on the Steelers they go absolutely no where. It would be an ugly repeat of the first half AFC Championship against the Jets.

The Packers must throw, throw, and throw some more to beat this defense and secondary. They do have the weapons and could really surprise the Steelers.

If the Pittsburgh Steelers are anywhere within 6 points with the ball and a minute-thirty to go, that's a wrap. Pittsburgh wins number seven.

Here is what I think will happen. The Steelers will have a last minute drive, but it will mean nothing as Green Bay has a 9-10 point lead throughout the game.

Bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers. If they win, you win. If they lose in the end, a very close one, heartbreaking to the Steeler faithful, you still win.

This will not be a blow out game with the defense set up the way they are. The fast track favors Green Bay.

Experience goes to Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers.

I hope the Steelers win, but fear the worst.
