Cee's Power Rankings and Week Two Review.

Brandon CeeSep 17, 2008

How my rankings work:

If you lose, you drop, if you win you rise. You beat a good team you shoot up, you lose to a bad team and you drop further. You play good and lose, play bad and win, all these will be considered.

1. New York Giants (previously #2)

At this point they are the #1 team until someone shows there not. They’ve beaten a team that they should have and blew out a team they should have.

The Cowboys went toe-to-toe with the Eagles in a game that could of went the other way if it wasn’t for a key fumble (McNabb to Westbrook). Oh, and by the way that defense got shredded.

3. Buffalo Bills (#5)

The Bills dominated the Seahawks the first week and beat a team that’s been a powerhouse in the AFC for a few years now, the Jaguars. Watch out, this teams for real!

They skimmed by the Browns in Week Two, but the defense was impressive.

Carolina has beaten the Chargers in San Diego and the Bears at home. Two very good wins to open the season and they’ve done it without hoodlum Steve Smith. He comes back this week.

They blew out the Vikings and then almost allowed the Lions to come back to beat them last week. I’m not quite sold on this team quite yet, they got the Cowboys this week.

7.  Denver Broncos (#10)

They needed help from the “Buffest Ref in the League” to beat the Chargers in the final seconds. Anyhow, they were already inside the 15-yard line.

8. Philadelphia Eagles (#9)

The offense is back and the tables could be turned if a key turnover didn’t happen, but it did and it might have playoff implications down the road.

The only team to win a game and drop and that’s because there not impressive, regardless of what anyone says. The Jets just squeaked by the Dolphins in Week 1 and then the Patriots beat them by just 9 points?

10. Tennessee Titans (Not Ranked in Top 10)

Good defense and great running game. This team will be tough to beat, especially now with pocket passer Kerry Collins taking over.

After week one all the talk went to the Jets for just squeeking by the hapless Dolphins. This week the Cardinals flew across the country and demolished the ‘Fins, and hardly anyone is saying a word about them. This team is for real.

12. Chicago Bears

I am not so high on this team yet. They beat the Colts with Manning rusty and they lose to the Panthers. They are below Carolina and above Indianapolis.

13.  Indianapolis Colts

They have not quite looked like themselves this year but they’ve played some tough defenses. Have the good teams figured them out, finally?

The Niners had five turnovers against the Cardinals and still had a chance to win. They beat the defending NFC West champions for the past 100 years the Seahawks in Seattle, thats no easy task.

15. New York Jets

Not impressive either. They lost to the Patriots without Brady and Favre’s offense only scored 10 points. Oh yeah, since I haven’t mentioned it, they just barely beat the Dolphins!

They beat Cincinnati and that says absolutely nothing.

The Redskins upset the Saints and their weak defense. With five games remaining with the NFC East this might be as high as they get this year.

18. New Orleans Saints

The Patriots showed last year that all the fire-power in the world’s not going to win you a championship. So what are the Saints thinking?

A loss to the Saints and a win against the Falcons only says, “At least they’re better than the Falcons.” They have a lot to prove.

20. San Diego Chargers

Lost against Carolina in the closing seconds and lost to the Broncos in the closing seconds. Maybe they should give the ball to L.T. more and run the clock.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags have lost to the Titans and the Bills. Those are tough games to open the season, don’t count them out quite yet.

22. Minnesota Vikings

This is the spot where all the teams below this mark are pretty bad. The Vikings are on the verge of being pretty bad and it’s not because they are it’s because there QB is. Maybe they’ll have success with Gus Frerotte if he can stay away from touchdown celebrations.

23. Atlanta Falcons

How bad are the Lions? The Falcons beat them. And then the Bucs’ put them back in there place.

They were absolutely horrible against the Broncs’ in the first week. Then they beat the Chiefs while passing the ball for only 55 yards. That’s the same Chiefs that barely lost to the Patriots. How bad are the Chiefs?... How bad are the Patriots?

25. Cleveland Browns

The defense looked pretty good against the Steelers, but what’s up with the offense? They’ve scored 16 points in two games.

They lost to Pittsburgh then had a bye. My condolences to everyone affected by the hurricane.

27. Miami Dolphins

They played tough the first week and bad the second. Give this team a couple years and they’ll be winning again.

28. Kansas City Chiefs

This Larry Johnson guy just doesn’t get it. Maybe it’s because he played for Penitentiary State, I’m sorry I meant Penn State (No offense to Michael Robinson he’s one of the good guys).

29. Seattle Seahawks

No wide receivers. Maybe if they didn’t throw the ball 100 times a game the wide outs could get a break.

30. Cincinnati Bengals (Next Weeks Ranking #32)

A third loss in a row and I’m going to put them last. Wait they play the Giants, I might as well do it now.

I got a bright idea! Trade Chad Johnson to the Chiefs for Larry Johnson.

Marvin Lewis already has one foot out the door.

31. Detroit Lions

Last week I felt bad for the Raiders. This week I feel bad for the Lions, but I still want the Niners to thrash ‘em.

32. St.  Louis Rams

Ugly! Do like baseball does and just trade everyone for prospects. Start with the coach.
