NBA Trade Rumors: Five Reasons Why Steve Nash Trade is a Bad Idea

With the trade deadline coming close, The Trade rumors are buzzing.  One being someone acquiring the services of Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns.  Many People think it is a good idea to blow the whole thing up.   Lets take a look at five good reasons why Steve Needs to stay in Phoenix.

#5 Low Draft Pick

It is Likely that a championship contender will want Steve Nash.  If they give us one of their draft picks, it will be more than likely for a low 1st rounder or 2nd Round Pick.   Hmmmm How did Earl Clark work out?

#4: Who Would Lead The Team?

No One has more Locker Room Swagger than Steve Nash.   Without Steve Nash, you will have no strong leader for the Suns.   If Shaq or Amare was still in Phoenix, this may not have been such a big deal.  But now you really have no one to look toward for leadership.  There are many teams in the NBA (Sixers, Clippers, Wizards) that have talent, but no leadership.   You cannot build a championship contender without this.

#3: Bad Sports Karma

A few weeks ago, Lebron enlighted the world on Karma.  He called the CAVS' 50 plus blowout to the Lakers karma.   What happend next?  Lebron suffers a minor injury and Miami Loses 5 games in a row.  Trading Steve Nash would definetly cause Bad Sports Karma.

Steve Nash is the main reason why Phoenix Suns has a fan following.   When Phoenix goes to other Cities, you are bound to see 1 or 2 Nash Jerseys.  Losing Nash would be a blow.  Who else could attract a following.

You do not trade a back to back MVP, #2 in Assist among active players, 7 time All Star, and the Best Free Throw Shooter of All Time.  Nash is the Suns.     In the 80's and 90s, Stars would likely retire with their respective teams.  This helped to build team loyalty.    Plus, if you are recruiting your next big star, you do not want to give the impression that we will throw you away once we no longer need you.
