UCLA Football Recruiting: Valencia Running Back Steven Manfro Commits to UCLA

Breaking news just came in regarding Valencia (CA) running back Steven Manfro's recruiting status.

The Valencia High School football player gave a verbal commitment to UCLA during his official visit to the Pasadena campus this weekend, according to multiple sources.

The two-star running back received a scholarship offer from the Bruins and he will now join a backfield which consists of Johnathan Franklin, Derrick Coleman and Malcom Jones and I expect Manfro to earn minimal playing time next season contingent on if he wins the third-string position during spring practice.

Expect for Manfro to experience a deep learning curve as his relatively small 5'10", 185-pound frame could hinder his immediate impact as he goes up against the large defensive lines the soon-to-be Pac-12 boasts.

However, his 4.42-second 40-yard dash time could play a big factor; Manfro was known for his explosiveness and versatility during his playing days at Valencia High School.

With the Bruins now running the Pistol offense, Manfro's speed will make him a great, underrated signing for UCLA.
