Chelsea 4-0 Bordeaux - Champions League At Stamford Bridge Starts With A Bang.
Chelsea got their Champions League campaign off to the best possible start with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bordeaux.
The scoreline saw Chelsea top the fledgling Group A table on goal difference after Italian giants Roma slumped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of unfancied CFR Cluj of Romania, the Blues' next opponents in a fortnight's time.
First half goals from Frank Lampard and Joe Cole put the Blues firmly in the driving seat before Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka put the result beyond doubt late on.

Chelsea took the lead when Bosingwa delivered a perfect cross from the right straight on to Lampard's head! The Chelsea legend doesn't miss from there and Lampard continued his good form.
Fifteen minutes later and Chelsea increased their lead. It had been coming! Joe Cole's near post header from the corner put Chelsea two-nil up!
It was really poor defending - how did someone of Cole's stature beat three defenders to it?
At half-time it was all too comfortable for Chelsea. They went in at the break two-nil up but it should really had been three-nil.
In the 34th minute, Lampard missed sitter! Bosingwa crossed the ball in and it was bundled towards Lampard by Malouda. He was all alone with the keeper, but could only drag his effort wide of the far post! A really bad miss!
After the break Chelsea continued to miss chance after chance.
In the 82nd minute, however, Florent Malouda made it three-nil! The Frenchman finished well to round off a super Chelsea move, ending with a lovely backheel from Lampard into Malouda's path! He did the rest, finding the corner with a well struck shot across Rame
The move started by Mikel beating two players superbly and laid the ball off to Lampard, who in turn show-cased superb individual skill to set up Malouda. It was just a maginificent move every step of the way.
This undoubtedly put the result beyond doubt, but Chelsea weren't done yet.
With 87 minutes on the clock, Lampard fired in a corner from the left. Carvalho planted a powerful header onto the bar!
He was in acres of space there and should really have scored...
In the 90th minute, another chance went begging. This time, Belletti teed Anelka up on the edge of the box but he fired wide of the mark!
He should have made it four-nil!
However, in the 92nd minute, Nicholas Anelka finally got the goal his performace deserved. It was an easy tap-in for the Frenchman after Belletti's stunning 35 yard drive was tipped onto the bar by Rame, it fell kindly for Anelka.
