2011 NFL Draft: 10 Players the Philadelphia Eagles Should Have on Their Radar
The NFL Draft is almost here and as always there is a lot of debate on who the Philladelphia Eagles should use their picks on and what they need to address over the off-season.
Although there is a lot of debate on whether or not the Eagles will franchise Vick or sign him to a huge contract, they still need to focus on developing their team to maybe one day win a Super Bowl.
Here are 10 players the Eagles should have on their radar in the 2011 draft.

1st Round: Brandon Harris
1 of 10
Brandon Harris is a junior at Miami that is leaving college early to enter the NFL draft. Harris is a very quick corner-back that would benefit the Eagles style of play.
Harris is fast and has the ability to break up passes. He will be able to play the role as the feature corner in a teams system. Harris broke up 10 passes in 2010 and also had one interception.
The Eagles with Ellis Hobbs likely retiring after re-injuring his neck, the Eagles need another elite corner-back to place opposite of Samuel.
1st Round: DeMarcus Love
2 of 10
Demarcus Love is a left tackle out of Arkansas. He spent his seasons protecting quarterback Ryan Mallet's blindside. Offensive line-man are usually unsung heroes, and this guy is no different.
Love was selected a consensus All SEC member and was also an invitee to the Senior Bowl. Love will be a great blindside protector and has proven he is injury free and healthy.
Let's face it, Jason Peters is just not cutting it on the left side of that line. Love would be a suitable replacement in a few years and could sit behind Peters for another season.
1st Round: Derek Sherrod
3 of 10
Derek Sherrod is an offensive tackle for Mississippi State and had a great career and a great bowl game against Michigan. Sherrod would be able to provide protection for Michael Vick.
Sherrod had a wonderful season at State and will have a terrific career. He played in the SEC against some of the toughest defenders in the game and held his own, he is ready to play at the next level right now.
The only problem with Sherrod is that he could very well be gone by the time the Eagles pick comes.
1st Round: Akeem Ayers
4 of 10
Akeem Ayers is an outside linebacker for the UCLA Bruins. Like many in this seasons draft, he has decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.
Ayers was selected as an All American this season and just had a great season. Along with being an All American selection he was also All Pac Ten. He had four sacks this season and ten tackles for loss.
The Eagles are a bit week with their outside backers, and this would be a perfect fit for them defensively.
1st Round: Mike Pouncey
5 of 10
Pouncey was an outstanding offensive guard for the Florida Gators. He started 45 games as a Gator and even stepped in to play center for Florida this season.
Pouncey would be a great pick-up for the Eagles. He was selected for the Senior Bowl this season and is just a great player overall. Think about how good Florida's running attack was this season and remember that had a lot to do with the big men upfront.
Pouncey would be a great pick-up for the Eagles to just help out Vick even more.
2nd Round: Orlando Franklin
6 of 10
Franklin is an offensive guard that would really help the Eagles offensive line. He played at Miami and will be an excellent prospect to consider for the Eagles.
Franklin was selected as an All ACC second team member and had a great career at the University of Miami.
He will be a good fit for the struggling line of the Eagles and would provide a big body to move people for Michael Vick.
2nd Round: Kyle Rudolph
7 of 10
Rudolph made a dumb decision not returning to Notre Dame for his senior season after being injured, but that might just make the Eagles happy. Rudolph who is a pro-style tight-end had only 28 receptions for 328 yards and three touchdowns on the season in six games played
He will make a great tight-end and is more of receiver, almost a Dallas Clark type player.
Celek is okay for the Eagles, but with the Michael Vick era starting in Philly, they will need a smaller faster tight end.
2nd Round: DeAndre McDaniel
8 of 10
McDaniel the strong safety for the Clemson Tigers had an excellent four seasons with the Tigers. In his career he intercepted 15 passes including 8 in 2009.
McDaniel is an excellent corner and was apart of a decent defense highlighted by Bowers who led the nation in sacks this season.
McDaniel would be a great fit for the Eagles as they very well could be losing safety Quintin Mikell.
2nd Round: Johnny Patrick
9 of 10
Patrick is a senior cornerback for the Louisville Cardinals. He is a very fast corner and would provide a significant boost for the Eagles at a position they really need help with.
Patrick intercepted 5 passes in 2010 and struck fear in opposing quarterbacks.
The one problem that Patrick has is his background. He was charged with assault earlier in his career and that could cause the Eagles to pass away from him.
2nd Round: Brandon Burton
10 of 10
Brandon Burton is yet another pick that would be great for the Eagles. If they cannot find another cornerback in an earlier round Burton would be a fine choice.
Burton was the lock-down corner for Utah this season who had a great defense. Burton was only a junior this season, and will be ready to play almost out of the gates this NFL season.
The Eagles should only use Burton as an option if the other players mentioned above at the cornerback position are taken.
