FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - In one of the most anticipated playoff games in recent time, the New York Jets took down the number one seed New England Patriots, 28-21.

With a week of all trash-talking come out of the New York locker-room, the Jets backed it up Sunday.

The Jets forced Tom Brady to throw his first interception in 11 games and to his third playoff loss in a row.

New York just physically dominated New England in all aspects of the game, and forced to New England to act uncharacteristically.

New England struck first to grab an early lead thanks to a Shayne Graham field goal, but never re-gained the lead from that point.

The Jets went on to score two touchdowns back-to-back, with Sanchez touchdown tosses to LaDainian Tomlinson and Braylon Edwards.

The Edwards score come after a New England failed fake punt attempt.

With 1:06 left in the second half, the Patriots had the ball on their own 38, and decided to do something un-"Patriot" like; they went for it.

Instead of punting the ball, and pinning New York deep, Bill Belichick decided to go for it with a direct snap to Patrick Chung. However, Chung dropped the snap, and gained no yards on the play.

The game probably would of been 7-3 New York at halftime, but the Jets with great field position capitalized with a Sanchez to Edwards score.

New England receiving the kickoff entering the third, and only ran four plays before they had to punt it away.

As the third quarter concluded, Tom Brady found Alge Crumpler for a two-yard touchdown. With the score now 14-9, Belichick decided to go for the two-point conversion. Running back Sammy Morris received the direct snapped, and ran it in for two.

New England had cut the lead to only three points, but that was as close as they could get.

Sanchez marched the Jets down the field and threw a scoring strike to Santonio Holmes making it a 10 point game leading 21-11.

The Patriots had their chances, but they just couldn't capitalize.

After the Sanchez score, New England went right back down the field, but failed to score. They were facing a fourth-and-13 on the Jets 34, but they couldn't making it as Brady threw an incompletion.

However, New England did make it interesting. Graham nailed a 35-yard field goal with 1:57 left, making it a seven point game. But, New England failed an onside kick.

The Patriots got the ball back after another Jets touchdown, and answered right back with a score, but they failed to recover the onside kick.

This game was very depressing for all New England fans, but the Jets were the better team today.

Sanchez was flawless, and the Patriots played very uncharacteristically. It it was it is, the Jets won.

Despite going 14-2 in the regular season, the Patriots were one-and-done again, for the second straight year.

Although, this should be remembered as a very positive year for Patriots fan. All the experts picked New England to go 9-7 or 10-6, but they went against all odds.

The team has some very young and up-and-coming players, and as long as Brady and Belichick are together, the Patriots will be a threat every year.
