Kevin Garnett Leads List of NBA's 10 Best Power Forwards for Next Season
10. Carlos Boozer (Jazz)
Boozer is a solid 20/10 big man who is also a good passer. However, he is this low on the list because of his very bad defense and poor performance in the playoffs when it mattered most. He is also helped significantly by the great passing of Deron Williams. He still is a good scoring big man who is good inside and also has a solid mid range game.
9. Shawn Marion (Heat)
Marion is one of the most underrated players in the league. He is a solid 17-18 point scorer who also gets 10 rebounds along with great percentages from the field and free throw line. He is also a great defensive player who can guard point guards through power forwards. He is also very efficient as he never turns over the ball.
8. David West (Hornets)
West has become one of the best power forwards in the league over the last two to three seasons. He is a great scorer who has an excellent mid range game. He is also a solid rebounder (around nine a game) and has turned into a solid defensive player who averages around 1.5 blocks and a steal. He and Chis Paul form one of the best duos in the league.
7. Pau Gasol (Lakers)
Gasol is an excellent finesse scoring big man who is also a solid rebounder and a fantastic passer in the post. He also shoots great from the field and solid from the free throw line, but he is a below average defensive player as he isn't strong or tough enough to defend more physical big men inside.
6. Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks)
Dirk is one of the best scorers in the entire league. He has an excellent mid range game, a solid driving game, and is the best shooting big man in the league. He is also a solid rebounder (around nine), passer (three to four), and efficient players as he shoots great from the field, 3 point line, and free throw line. However, he is just a soft player who is average defensively and in the playoffs, as he isn't tough enough to play well when it matters most.
5. Amare Stoudemire (Suns)
Amare is one of the most athletic and explosive big man of all time. He is a 25 point scorer who averages around nine rebounds and two blocks. He is also excellent from the field (58%) and from the free throw line (78%). However, he is an average defensive player who sometimes concetrates too much on scoring rather than having an all around game both offensively and defensively.
4. Chris Bosh (Raptors)
Bosh is one of the best young players in the league. He is an excellent scoring big man who has one of the best shooting strokes in the league. He is also a good rebounder, passer, and a solid defensive player. He also shoots good from the field (48%) and unbelievable from the free throw line (around 85%). He is going to have a great year as Jermaine O'Neal will be the physical big man and he will allow Bosh to be a dominant scorer and not worry about being the interior defender.
3. Elton Brand (Sixers)
Brand is one of the most consistent players in the history of the league. He is a lock for 20 points and 10 rebounds. He also gives you around three assists, over two blocks, and excellent percentages from the field and from the free throw line. He is an excellent defensive player and he will be energized with the Sixers as he is finally on a good team.
2. Tim Duncan (Spurs)
The only reason Timmy isn't No. 1 is because he is showing signs of slowing down as he is getting up there in age. He still is a 20 and 10 player who is an amazing defensive player, leader, and winner. He is also an excellent passer in the post and one of the most clutch players in the league. He is still great, but not dominant like before.
1. Kevin Garnett (Celtics)
Garnett is one of the best all around players in the league. He is a dominant player on both ends of the court. He is a solid 20 point scorer who averages 10 rebounds and over four assists. He is also a great defensive player who averages 1.5 steals and nearly two blocks as well as being one of the best help defenders in the league. He is also an incredible leader who is as passionate about the game as any superstar in the league.
