NFL Playoff Predictions: New York Jets Vs New England Patriots Who Will Win?

James EvensJun 2, 2018

The New York Jets and the New England Patriots have been in the news for the last week talking smack to each-other and trying to get in the opposing teams head.

It's getting kind of old actually, and I'm ready for the game to be played so we don't have to hear any more of the jawing off the field by either side.

Here are some prediction for the Jets vs. the Patriots.

Jet's Jump Out Earlier

1 of 10
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - JANUARY 08: Antonio Cromartie #31 of the New York Jets returns a kickoff 47-yards in the final minute of the fourth quarter against kicker Pat McAfee #1 of the Indianapolis Colts during their 2011 AFC wild card playoff game at Lucas Oi

The Jets need to get on the board early in this one.  It will be key for the Jets to score early in often if they plan on winning at Gillette Stadium.

It's a tough place to play, and it will even be tougher if trying to come back from behind.

Patriots Stay Calm

This is not usually a problem for the New England Patriots, but they need to make sure it isn't a problem in this weeks game.  The New York Jets might play a little bit dirty, but they need to stay calm and limit stupid mistakes.

The Patriots are playing at home, no need for stupid penalties.

Sanchez Needs To Make Good Decisions

3 of 10

Sanchez needs to make good decisions in the game. He needs to watch what throws he makes, and make sure that he does not get picked off.

Limiting turnovers will be key in this one.

Brady Just Needs to Stay Clutch

Brady has a great history of staying clutch through tough times in big games.  He needs to continue this and he will succeed.

If Brady can stay smart and make good decisions, it is their game to lose.

Patriots Need to Pressure Sanchez

Sanchez makes big mistakes when he is under pressure and this will not change if New England can continue to put pressure on him throughout the game.

If Sanchez is sacked three or more times, the Patriots will win this game, you can take that to the bank right now.

Jets Need to Stop Welker

Welker always seems to have big games in these types of situations and this will be no different.  If Welker is able to have a big game it could mean the end for the New York Jets.

Containing Welker is important for the Jets.

Revis Needs to Back Up The Trash

7 of 10
CHICAGO, IL - DECEMBER 26: Matt Forte #22 of the Chicago Bears runs as Darrelle Revis #24 of the New York Jets closes in at Soldier Field on December 26, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears defeated the Jets 38-34. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images

Revis needs to back up what the Jets have been saying about the Patriots all week long.

If you don't like Tom Brady celebrating, don't let him make big plays and give him the opportunity to show his emotion on the football field.

Rex Ryan Needs To Outthink The Zen Master

8 of 10

Rex Ryan will be facing one of the most intellectual coaches to ever step foot on a football field. He will need to outsmart Belichick and make sure that he is not out coached.

When facing the Patriots, you have to call a flawless game, or else they will take advantage and end up beating you.

Ryan needs to coach the game of his life.

Who Will Win?

9 of 10
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - JANUARY 08: Mark Sanchez #6 of the New York Jets calls a play in the huddle against the Indianapolis Colts during their 2011 AFC wild card playoff game at Lucas Oil Stadium on January 8, 2011 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Jets won 17-

It will be a very close game and should come down the the wire.  After the Jets were manhandled in their last outing, expect them to come out with a bang.

So without further adieu, I present to you...

The New York Jets

10 of 10
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - JANUARY 08: Place kicker Nick Folk #2 of the New York Jets successfully kicks a game-winning a 32-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to win 17-16 against the Indianapolis Colts during their 2011 AFC wild card playoff game at Lucas O

The Jets are outmatched on paper, but will come back and win this game.  They are coming into this game with a huge chip on their shoulder and want to prove that they belong in the playoffs and belong in the Super Bowl.

The Jets will win this game.

Sanchez will come out to play, and the Jets defense will come out and show that they are one of the best defense in the league.

They will be able to back up there smack, and unfortunately, we have to hear another week of Ryan pressers.
