New Stadium, New Season

As most of you know, New York Yankees are being moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium.  What will this mean for the Bronx Bombers?  Well, more expensive tickets for one.  New stadium means new season.  Yankees are slowly washing their playoff chances right down the drain.  I happen to be a huge Yankees fan, but I don't like where we are going.  Our bullpen is shaky, starters are inconsistent, offense shows up every third game. People say Yankees will never have a non sold out game, but if the Yankees keep playing the way they are now, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a few.  However, next year might be different.  First, Damon gone?  This could quite possibly be true.  Every off season there are trade rumors.  Then, Molina will be released.  Doesn't have a huge affect.  Most importantly, a note on our starting pitching.  First, Andy Pettite.  He's been a little shaky down the stretch, but you can guarantee a solid 13 win season from him.  Then, Mike Mussina.  He has been the leader of the pitching staff, and if he has the same year again next year, don't count him out for CY Young.  Next, Carl Pavano hasn't pitched in nearly two years before this season, and he hasn't been terrible.  He can easily be a great 15 win pitcher.  Additionally, the Yankees have a nice arm in Acevez who pitched beautifully.  That young player has a lot of potential.  Next, who knows about Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes.  Joba can be the most dominant pitcher if he gets his velocity back, and of course, he stays healthy.  When Phil Hughes is healthy, I can compare him to a Roy Halladay.  He has a powerful fastball, a dominant curve ball, and a spectacular change-up.  Next,a true, young ace, Chien-Ming-Wang.  He was a 19 game winner, and he can make it 20 if he stays healthy.  Lastly, a big name on the market, C.C Sabathia.  Everyone talks about the Yankees getting him if the Brewers don't pick up his option, and it could happen.  Our starting lineup next year could possibly be C.C Sabathia, Mike Mussina, Andy Pettite, Phil Hughes, and Chien Ming Wong.  Our bullpen will be Aceves and Joba and possibly Pavano if he returns.  Also, we can always put Hughes in the bullpen, as well as Moose because of his age.   Ramirez who is a rising prospect is a stud in the bullpen.  And of course, the Sandman, Mariano Rivera.  It can't get much better then that folks.
