Rafael Cavalcante Vs. Dan Henderson Fight Targeted for Strikeforce: Columbus

Dale De SouzaJan 11, 2011

Who didn't see this one coming?

Well, maybe the state of Ohio didn't, but either way, it's going to happen.

Fresh off of a win against Renato Sobral in St. Louis, PRIDE Legend Dan Henderson has his sights set on the man who I've described in the past as a "Muay Thai Wrecking Machine", Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante.

The reigning 205-lb. king puts his new Stikeforce title on the line against Henderson for sure, and Fanhouse MMA reports that the bout could go down in Columbus, Ohio on March 5th.

Also slated for this event is a bout between Jason "Mayhem" Miller and proud Army Ranger Tim Kennedy in a bout that you can definitely call an exciting Middleweight fight.

If anyone wants to judge this fight before it happens, then let me place one bit of judgment on it before it even gets confirmed:

This one isn't ending in the type of stale Unanimous Decision that many unfairly predicted would be the result of Frankie Edgar's bout with Gray Maynard almost two weeks ago.

No, my friends, this one is ending in a finish—either Hendo's "Hollywood Homicide" right hand or Feijao's Muay Thai cranium-crushers that he calls knees will be the tool(s) that end the fight.

I've said once before that I do believe Henderson won't get past Feijao, but as the fight prepares to reach a final venue and as the contracts get prepared to meet some ink, Henderson could very well be concocting a method to prove me wrong.

If the ink dries on the March 5th date in Columbus, Mr. Henderson will get that very chance to make me eat crow.

It's anything but an easy task, but Hendo could make a finish of Feijao look anything but difficult.
