Alabama Football Recruiting: After Army Bowl, Where Do Crimson Tide Turn?
The Crimson Tide sit atop the current recruiting class rankings and have received a plethora of pledges from some the most elite prospects in the nation this year.
While they lost Russellville (AL) LB/RB Brent Calloway to rival Auburn, the Crimson Tide gained a future star in Dee Hart a talented running from Dr. Phillips high school in Florida.
Come check out what Alabama's recruiting plans are from now until singing day.
Calloway Would Rather Run For Auburn Than Line Up For Tide
1 of 10
When we turned on the Army game, we were stunned to hear the Brent Calloway was decommitting from Alabama. A big head scratcher, we began to research the situation and received word that Calloway was insisting to be given a shot at running back for Alabama.
Alabama felt that Calloway's best position was linebacker and told him he would be asked to stay that position during his tenure in Tuscaloosa. Calloway chose to re-open up his recruitment and bolted to Auburn, which promised him a shot at running back.
Dee Hart Likes Crimson Look More Than Big Blue
2 of 10
Hart had been committed to Michigan for some time but decided to look elsewhere when it was rumored that Rich Rodriguez would indeed be fired.
We had heard that Hart had a verbal to Alabama during the week of practices for the Army game, but he chose to make it fully official on Saturday in the fourth quarter, announcing he was committed to the Crimson Tide.
Could Hart's pledge throw a dent into Alabama's chances with Isaiah Crowell? Stay tuned.
Cyrus Kouandjio Still Contemplating On Joining His Brother
3 of 10
Kounadjio, a massive offensive tackle form DeMatha (MD), took a visit to Alabama on December 3rd.
The Tide hold a doubled edged sword working for and against them: Kouandjio's brother is a member of the Crimson Tide's offensive line. Yet, Cyrus has stated he does not truly wish to compete for playing time against his brother, which may force him to look elsewhere.
In the end, will family ties win out and deliver him to Tuscaloosa?
Nick O'Leary Will Be Hearing More From Alabama
4 of 10
O'Leary had a costly fumble during the Army game, yet still had a solid overall showing through the contest. He is the top tight end prospect in the country and holds offers from every major program in college football.
He is being heavily recruited by Alabama and with signing day fast approaching. Their efforts will only increase to get O'Leary to sign with the Tide.
This could come down to Alabama vs. Florida State.
Saban and Pruitt Set To Woo Jay Rome This Weekend
5 of 10
Jay Rome, the 6-5, 255 pound tight end prospect from Valdosta (GA) is set to trek to Alabama this weekend for his official visit.
Rome is very athletic and word is he could also be a great defensive end in college. While he has been linked to Georgia constantly throughout the recruiting cycle, Alabama will all but sure do everything it can to sway him to sign with them.
Swann Song For Alabama?
6 of 10
Grady (GA) ATH Damian Swann verballed to Georgia during the Army game, but soon after, we heard he was still weighing his options and planning more visits.
Swann, also a very talented baseball player, could take visits to Miami and USC. He still has 2 visits he could take and does hold an offer from Alabama.
What Will Isaiah Crowell Do?
7 of 10
Crowell is among the nation's best running back prospects. He has all the tools to become a big time star on the collegiate level.
His recruiting saga has been an Alabama vs. Georgia heavyweight match and looks to be going down to signing day.
With Dee Hart in the fold, could Crowell envision himself and Hart as the next Ingram/Richardson in Tuscaloosa?
Fighting For Jernigan
8 of 10
Tim Jernigan, a defensive tackle prospect from Colombia (FL), has narrowed his choices down to Alabama, LSU, and Florida State.
Jernigan is torn between all three schools and many feel that LSU could be the last one standing at the end. But what happens if Les Miles goes to Michigan?
This race isn't over and we're sure that Alabama is on Jernigan's trail extremely hard.
Florence To Visit Next Weekend
9 of 10
Valley (AL) safety Erique Florence will take an up-close and personal look at Alabama next week on his official visit.
Some have speculated Florence is an Auburn lean, but Alabama will have their shot to secure his pledge on his visit and will certainly present themselves as an attractive option for his services.
A Crimson Tide vs. Tiger recruiting battle for a player from the state of Alabama? Too classic.
Clowney Would Be Icing On Crimson Cake
10 of 10
Jadeveon Clowney has stated he likes LSU and Ohio State, yet he will likely decide between in-state South Carolina or Alabama.
AIabama's hiring of defensive line coach Chris Rumph will play an instrumental role in his decision as Clowney and Rumph have a very close relationship.
Clowney would undoubtedly be the crown jewel in a star studded Tide class and seal them as the 2011 recruiting champions.
