After our earlier preview of this Saturday's early kickoff, Manchester United vs Liverpool, here we are taking a close look at Manchester City's clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has returned "home" to Man City and is on fire, and he is expected to start against his old club. Meanwhile, Martin Petrov has been ruled out of action by a confident Mark Hughes:

"Chelsea comes too soon for him [Petrov] but we are looking good as a team."

Manchester City's shocking deadline day signing, Robinho, earlier blasted Chelsea for not doing enough to sign him and has warned them of "revenge".

Manchester City still look like a stiff opposition for the Blues with Elano, Jo, and Robinho all expected to start.

Chelsea's assistant manager, Steve Clarke, reportedly handed in his resignation at Stamford Bridge earlier today, in order to join Gianfranco Zola's era at West Ham.

Michael Essien has been ruled out for at least the rest of the year after sustaining an injury on international duty with Ghana, needless to say, the mood at Stamford Bridge is not sky high.

However, Deco begs to differ:

"He [Robinho] will regret his silly move and we have problems but we are confident of a win on Saturday," the Portuguese maestro said.

John Terry shrugged off a knee problem in midweek and is expected to lead the Blues out at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Chelsea's manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari is in a buoyant mood ahead of the game, and has hinted at the return of Didier Drogba:

"He's in recovery and should be good to get some 45 minutes of play at Manchester City," revealed the Brazilian coach.

Joe Cole is expected to be available despite needing stitches to a head injury suffered during England's victory in Croatia on Wednesday.

John Obi Mikel is hoping to return from a leg problem to fill in for Michael Essien.
