
NFL Playoffs: The 10 Greatest Postseason Field Goals of The Past Decade
In honor of the New York Jets' last-second victory over the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, B/R is going back in time to bring you 10 of the best playoff game-winning field goals of the past 10 years.
There are upsets, Super Bowl winners, and plenty of sudden death boots. Without further ado, here are the 10 greatest postseason field goals of the past decade.
10. 2004 AFC Wild Card: New York Jets 20, San Diego Chargers 17 (OT)

New York's Doug Brien nailed a 28-yard field goal with seconds remaining in overtime to give the Jets the road win. The previous Chargers drive saw San Diego's Nate Kaeding miss a 40-yard game-winning attempt.
9. 2003 NFC Divisional: Philadelphia Eagles 20, Green Bay Packers 17 (OT)

Philadelphia's famous "4th and 26" was key in sending the game into overtime. Soon after, the Eagles capitalized on a Favre interception. David Akers would kick a 31-yard field goal to win it in overtime, sending the Eagles to the NFC Championship Game.
8. 2004 AFC Divisional: Pittsburgh Steelers 20, New York Jets 17 (OT)

After beating the Chargers with an overtime field goal of their own, the Jets were the victims of a game-winner the very next week. Pittsburgh's Jeff Reed booted a 33-yard field goal on the first drive of overtime to win it.
7. 2002 AFC Divisional: Tennessee Titans 34, Pittsburgh Steelers 31 (OT)

Tennessee's Joe Nedney hit the third of three game-winning attempts, after missing at the end of regulation and on his first overtime attempt, kicking the Titans to the AFC Championship Game.
Nedney missed a 31-yard attempt in overtime. However, Pittsburgh was penalized for running into the kicker. Nedney's next kick from 26 yards out was good.
6. 2006 NFC Divisional: Chicago Bears 27, Seattle Seahawks 24 (OT)

Robbie Gould's 49-yard game-winner sent the Bears into the NFC Championship Game on their way to Super Bowl XLI. It was the Bears' first playoff win since 1995 and their first NFC title game appearance since 1988.
5: 2001 AFC Divisional: New England Patriots 16, Oakland Raiders 13 (OT)

Adam Vinatieri's 23-yard field goal in the overtime snow won it for the Patriots in the final game at Foxboro Stadium. The kick sent New England to the AFC Championship Game, where they would beat Pittsburgh.
4. 2007 NFC Championship: New York Giants 23, Green Bay Packers 20 (OT)

After a Brett Favre interception (Favre's last pass as a Packer), the Giants went for the kill in overtime with a 47-yard attempt by Lawrence Tynes. The kick was good and the rest is history. New York went on to win Super Bowl XLII, beating the 18-0 New England Patriots.
3. Super Bowl XXXVIII: New England Patriots 32, Carolina Panthers 29

New England's Adam Vinatieri added to his long postseason resume with a 41-yard field goal that gave the Patriots the lead with four seconds remaining in regulation. New England would win the Lombardi Trophy, their first of two consecutive and three in four seasons.
2. 2009 NFC Championship: New Orleans Saints 31, Minnesota Vikings 28 (OT)

Garrett Hartley lifted an entire city when he sent the ball through the uprights from 40 yards out in overtime of the 2009 NFC Championship Game. Hartley's attempt followed a Brett Favre interception at the end of regulation, when the Vikings were in potential game-winning field goal range.
1. Super Bowl XXXVI: New England Patriots 20, St. Louis Rams 17

Adam Vinatieri's 48-yard field goal as time expired in Super Bowl XXXVI takes home the honor as the greatest postseason field goal of the past 10 years. Vinatieri's kick not only won Super Bowl XXXVI, but kicked off a New England dynasty that ruled the decade.
