Dallas Stars Among Eight Teams to Compete at Prospect Tournament

Ken ArmerSep 11, 2008

For those who can't wait for hockey season, now is your chance. But it will cost you air-fare to Traverse City, Michigan. Hopefully those going already know considering the camps dates are Sept. 13-17, and I'm afraid I will not be in attendance. For those who are in the Traverse City area, look no further than the Center Ice Arena to get your fix of talented rookies and top prospect hockey.

Besides the Dallas Stars, teams attending include the Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers, Minnesota Wild, and Columbus Blue Jackets. The rosters combined have a lot of exciting players worth checking out.

The Stars will be taking a 22-man roster, 12 of which were selected by the club via the NHL Entry Draft. Some Stars prospects who are on the roster include Fabian Brunnstrom, James Neal, Perttu Lindgren, Raymond Sawada, Ivan Vishnevskiy and Tyler Beskorowany, the Stars’ first pick in the 2008 Draft. Below is the complete roster and schedule as found on the Stars website.

The Stars Prospects coaching staff will include the Idaho Steelheads' (Dallas' ECHL affiliate) head coach Derek Laxdal and Stars' assistant coach, and former player Stu Barnes. Co-GM's Brett Hull and Les Jackson are also expected to be in attendance along with Stars head coach Dave Tippet and the rest of the scouting staff.
