Wrestlemania XXVII: The Ultimate Dream Card
The Road to Wrestlemania has begun, and it's first stop, the Royal Rumble, is rapidly approaching. Wrestlemania 27 is coming to us all live from Atlanta, and will mark the ten-year anniversary of perhaps the greatest Wrestlemania of all time, Wrestlemania X-Seven!!
That alone garners much anticipation for this Wrestlemania, as many predictions and fantasies of the card have already been made throughout the site.
I have decided to join in on the fun and give my own dream card that will be sure not to dissapoint. Enjoy this great dream card put together, and hope that some of these come true in the end.
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
1 of 11
The Money in the Bank Ladder Match has been a yearly tradition at Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania 21. I believe this match will have one more run on the Grandest Stage of Them All before permanently moving to its own PPV, which I disagree on.
Anyways, the winner gains a title opportunity at any time they wish up to 12 months. Let's look at the participants.
Drew McIntyre - The Chosen One has gone downhill since losing the IC Title, but seems to be on the rise again. This match is his ticket to fulfilling McMahon's prophecy.
Rey Mysterio - With Rey's high-flying ability and popularity, the Master of the 619 brings this match some star power and will give us some amazing spots.
Alberto Del Rio - Del Rio is on a fast rise to the top, and the wealthy Mexican aristocrat would love to raise his stock by winning Money in the Bank that would propel him.
Mark Henry - When you're called the World's Strongest Man, you're bound to be a favorite. Henry has the power to destroy everyone, especially with ladders, so expect to see him on a rampage.
Justin Gabriel - The Nexus' high-flyer would represent his faction in this match, and hope to bring more power to the Nexus through winning the briefcase.
"Dashing" Cody Rhodes - Cody Rhodes has an amazing gimmick with his "Dashing" persona, and he can certainly make an impact in this sort of match.
Tyson Kidd - Kidd has been on a roll since breaking up the Hart Dynasty, and his high-flying makes him a favorite, if not his bodyguard, Jackson Andrews.
Ted DiBiase - The Fortunate Son has not been doing well since Legacy broke up, but he's got the skill and charisma to make an impact, and he can show that in the Money in the Bank match.
This match will have plenty of great spots, and this match will have many favorites who could easily win in the end. But in the end, I see Alberto Del Rio grabbing the coveted briefcase after pushing Mysterio off a ladder to the floor.
Prediction: Alberto Del Rio
Intercontinental Championship: Kofi Kingston Vs. Jack Swagger Iron Man Match
2 of 11
I would absolutely love to see this match happen at Wrestlemania! I can see Kofi keeping the title up to this long, and I can tell Swagger's not out of the title picture yet!
I can see that Swagger says that Kofi couldn't go 30 minutes with the All-American American, while Kofi says he could beat him multiple times in that time frame. Teddy comes out and announces a 30-minute Iron Man Match between the two at Wrestlemania!
This would be an amazing back and forth match with great wrestling, high-flying, and big risks taken.
In the end, I would see Swagger taking this one and the IC Title with a 3-2 lead after making Kingston tap to the Ankle Lock in the final seconds!
Prediction: Jack Swagger (New Champion)
Divas Championship: Natalya Vs. Beth Phoenix
3 of 11
It's the one Divas Match any of us may want to see! Natalya and Beth are undoubtedly the best female wrestlers in the WWE today!
I believe they have never gone one on one with one another, and if they did it would be amazing if WWE did it right! And with Natalya winning the Divas Championship and Beth Phoenix having returned, their could be no better place for them to face off than at Wrestlemania 27!!
This match has the potential to rival the great Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James match at Wrestlemania 22, and in the end I see Natalya making Beth tap to the Sharpshooter in a great match!
Prediction: Natalya
CM Punk vs Wade Barrett Lumberjack Match, Winner Becomes Leader of Nexus
4 of 11
This may not happen, but this is a dream card! Wade Barrett would not take being screwed by Punk and having been kicked out of Nexus lightly, so he reminds Nexus how Punk abused the SES and lead it to its demise, faltering the Nexus' loyalty to Punk.
CM Punk retaliates by saying Barrett became corrupt, only using Nexus to further his goal of being WWE Champion. The Raw GM makes a match between the two at WM to decide who is the leader of Nexus, with the Nexus being the Lumberjacks.
After fighting each other for awhile, the Nexus get into the ring, and at first seem about to attack Barrett, much to Punk's delight.
But then they turn around and attack Punk, destroying him before Barrett delivers Wasteland to gain the victory.
Prediction: Wade Barrett
Chris Jericho Vs. Randy Orton
5 of 11
A match between Jericho and Orton seems to be destiny. Orton has punted Jericho in the head, putting him out of action. I see Jericho returning at the Royal Rumble, appearing during the WWE Title Match and cost Orton the match with a Codebreaker as revenge for getting punted.
These two would then try to get the better of the other in any way possible, whether costing matches, or beating the hell out of one another.
It gets so intense between the two that a match is made between the two at Wrestlemania 27. After a great back-and-forth match, Jericho counters the RKO with a roll-up, and with a handful of tights, gets the victory over Orton.
Prediciton: Chris Jericho
Triple H vs Sheamus Hell in a Cell
6 of 11
The match that has been nearly one year in the making has been a very anticipated one. Sheamus took the Game out back at Extreme Rules of April last year, and has not been back since. But during the Rumble Match, the Game makes his triumphant return, eliminating a shocked Sheamus as well as himself in the process.
The King of Kings tries to destroy at Sheamus at every turn, only for the Celtic Warrior to escape at every time. Stephanie comes out and announces that it will be him and Triple H inside Hell in a Cell at Wrestlemania 27!
Sheamus snaps and Brogue Kicks Stephanie, earning even more wrath from Triple H. Sheamus then attacks a visiting HBK, destroying him with several Brogue Kicks, raising this beyond personal.
Blood or not, this match will be a very brutal one inside the Cell, but despite the wrath of Sheamus, the Game will hit him with the sledgehammer and deliver a damn-fine Pedigree, getting his well-deserved revenge.
Prediction: Triple H
WWE Championship: The Miz vs John Morisson vs Daniel Bryan Triple Threat Match
7 of 11
A match that could possibly steal the show at Wrestlemania 27! Their match at Hell in a Cell was amazing, and I feel they could top it on the Grandest Stage of Them All!
I see Morisson winning the Royal Rumble, and Miz retaining the title up to thtis point. Daniel Bryan will insert himself wanting a definitive end in the Miz and humilate him by taking the WWE Title, and the Raw GM makes it a Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania.
It could be the Benoit/HHH/Michaels of this era: Bryan, the Benoit who has worked and fought for years to get to the top, Morrison, the HBK who could steal the show on any given day, and the Miz, the HHH who would do anything to keep the title around his waist, clean or dirty.
I'm not saying it will be AS good, because it's hard to top it, but it would be pretty damn good, with Morisson coming out on top, finally winning the WWE Title!
Prediction: John Morrison (New Champion)
World Heavyweight Championship: Edge vs Christian Tables, Ladders, and Chairs
8 of 11
A match that the IWC has been clamoring for for years. Ten years ago at Wrestlemania X-Seven, these two were teammates in perhaps the greatest TLC Match, TLC II. Ten years later, they face off in the very same match they made famous for the World Title.
Christian would return, and win the No. 1 Contenders spot in some way, and the two's friendship would be put to the limits as the World Title is constantly put in the middle. In the end, the two would implode at the final Smackdown before Wrestlemania, and at the event, the two would remind everyone why they are the masters of TLC, using all three weapons to the fullest in a classic TLC Match.
In the end, Christian would hit a Con-Chair-To on Edge, allowing him to climb the ladder and win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Prediction: Christian (New Champion)
Christian stands tall in the middle of the ring, celebrating with the World Heavyweight Title as he has fulfilled his lifelong dream...
Alberto Del Rio Cashes In
9 of 11
...When suddenly Alberto smashes him in the head from behind in the Money in the Bank briefcase. With his trademark smile, he hands the referee the briefcase, and is announced he is cashing in his Money in the Ban contract.
As Christian gets up, Alberto locks in the Cross-Armbreaker, and Captain Charisma has no choice but to tap out! The audience stands in shock as Alberto is handed the title and is announced the World Heavyweight Champion.
Alberto Del Rio stands tall over Christian, giving his trademark wink to the fallen Captain Charisma as he holds the World Heavweight Title over his head.
Prediction: Alberto Del Rio (New Champion)
John Cena vs The Undertaker
10 of 11
There would not be a more fitting main event for Wrestlemania 27 than this! The match the world has wanted to see happen.
Ever since 2003, Cena and Undertaker have rarely crossed paths, save for a few times in 2006, 2007, and 2009. As Cena tries to fight the Nexus, the Undertaker returns and aids Cena in his fight against Nexus for revenge.
Suddenly, the Raw GM announces that at Wrestlemania 27, it will be Undertaker vs John Cena at Wrestlemania 27, with Taker's 18-0 undefeated Streak on the line!
Throughout the weeks, and awesome build-up would be done to hype the match, with Cena and Taker fighting Nexus, but suddenly attacking each other after it's done. The two would trade blows with one another, both verbally and physically as Cena fights off Taker's mind games.
At Wrestlemania 27, the match will not disappoint as we see Attitude Adjustments, Chokeslams, Last Rides, STFs, Hell's Gates, broken announce tables, crash and burns, and Tombstone Piledrivers, neither seemingly able to beat other.
But even as a big Cena fan, even the Champ cannot best the Deadman, with Undertaker delivering a final Tombstone Piledriver for the win, extending his Streak to 19-0.
Prediction: The Undertaker
Conclusion
11 of 11
There you have it! My own personal dream card for Wrestlemania 27! Some of these matches have a chance of happening, while others are simply a fantasy for me.
I hope this dream card is something that satisfies all of you, and hope that some of these matches come true in the end.
The Road to Wrestlemania has begun, and Wrestlemania XXVII is already looking to be one that could change everything. Will Wrestlemania 27 live up to the legacy of Wrestlemania X-Seven? Will Wrestlemania be able to exceed all the anticipation?
Will Wrestlemania XXVII usher in a new era in WWE? No matter what, I am truly looking foward to this year's Wrestlemania, and hope WWE can put on a great card and show. Thank you all for reading.
