Bela's Top 10 Football Commercials

We all love watching the game when it comes on the television but what's even better is when they decide to throw on commercials  related to football. I have scoured youtube and come up with what I think are some the best footy ads to grace the television within the last ten years or so.

10. Nike: Good Vs. Evil

This is simply genius. Playing in the Colosseum with a bunch of demons and a gargoyle in net. Then Cantona pops his collar before shooting. Priceless.

9. Pepsi: Banned Commerical

I was surprised to find the number of commercials that Pepsi put out about football. Bowing to get the other team to do so then putting the ball over them is hilarious and probably what got it banned.

8. Adidas: Bunch Of Balls

This is such a great commercial. The logistics alone in shooting it had to be horrible. Trying to clear the streets and then find a handful of people to be in it, besides the players, that knew what they were doing.

7. Nike Joga Bonito: Chain Invite

These commercials made their launch during the 2006 World Cup with Eric Cantona hosting what was to be an underground soccer channel. 7,6, and 5 are devoted to these awesome bits of ball work

6. Nike Joga Bonito: Three Brazilians And A Ball

This has to be one of my favorite commercials simply because of how natural it is. Ronaldhino, Carlos, and Robinho all standing around juggling with each other and doing stupidly insane tricks.

5. Nike Joga Bonito: The First Commercial

I remember sitting on the couch and seeing this at two in the morning during the highlights from the day. I already enjoyed football up until that point but after that commercial, I began to love the game for all it was worth. One last note about the Joga commercials, they have amazing soundtracks.

4. Carlsberg Sport: A Squirrel And Its Nut.

I came across this ad about six months ago and it still puts a smile on my face. The simple concept of feeding a squirrel some energy drink and then him tricking with a nut is awesome.

3. Pepsi: Manchester United Vs. Real Madrid

Apparently Pepsi really loved making football commercials back in the day. After that commercial where the boy sucks himself into the bottle, you can imagine that they needed a new something to latch onto. They found it with football. Using the horse to score the goal, priceless.

2. Nike: Take It To The Next Level

I came across this commercial in May of this past year and couldn't stop watching it. The concept behind it is truly amazing. Putting you in the eyes of the player and going through the motions.

1. Adidas: Jose +10

This was another commercial that made its way out in 2006 during the World Cup. I love the concept of the school yard game and they just start calling out famous players. Defoe's save in net and then arguing about thel goal, awesome.
