2010-11 NFL Wild Card Round Fantasy Running Back Rankings

Ryan LesterJan 6, 2011

Here are my fantasy football running back rankings for the Wild Card Round.

1.  Ray Rice:  Was a force down the stretch. Averaged 111 total yards per game on the year. Should be effective against Kansas City.

2.  LeSean McCoy:  With Vick at less than 100 percent, look for McCoy to shoulder more of the load against a Packers team that allowed 4.7 yards per carry.

3.  Jamaal Charles:  Fell short of the rushing title, but should make his mark on this game despite Baltimore’s stout defense.

4.  Shonn Greene:  Jets kept him fresh with just 185 carries on the year. It’s time to unleash him on Indy’s 25th ranked run defense.

5.  Reggie Bush:  Bush is a wild card (pun intended). He could be average or he could break something. He’s a risky play, but with all of the injuries at RB for the Saints, he’s  a solid play.

6.  Joseph Addai:  Seasoned veteran will be leaned on in the playoffs.

7.  Marshawn Lynch:  Likely just one game in store for Lynch, but he should have a decent wild card weekend against an average Saints run defense.

8.  LaDainian Tomlinson:  The old vet will likely make an impact against the Colts.

9.  Thomas Jones:  Similar to LT, but he has a much stiffer defense (Baltimore) to face and a better back (Charles) ahead of him.

10. Brandon Jackson:  I suspect Aaron Rodgers and the passing game will be the primary focus against the Eagles.

11. Dominic Rhodes:  An old friend arrives just in time to give the Colts some extra stability.

12. Julius Jones:  Not really sure how the Saints are going to split their carries. I’m expecting a lot of passing.
