Tennessee Titans: Owner Bud Adams Chooses Jeff Fisher Over Vince Young

Frank FittipaldiJan 5, 2011

It is being reported that the Tennessee Titans will part ways with quarterback Vince Young after five seasons.

It was being rumored that Jeff Fisher was on his way out of Tennessee, but owner Bud Adams has chosen to stick with Fisher over the disgruntled quarterback.

Vince Young has had issues with the Titans since he was drafted out of Texas in 2006.

Young has had his ups and downs with the Titans, but the 2010 season was the last straw.

The Titans will reportedly release or trade Young in the offseason and will need to look elsewhere to fill their quarterback position.

Young was due $12.75 million in 2011, so the Titans will save some money.

The Titans organization did not like Young's lack of leadership qualities, which ultimately led Bud Adams to decide to let him go this coming offseason.

Backup quarterback Kerry Collins is a free agent, so the Titans will look for a quarterback in the upcoming draft, or possibly trade for or sign a veteran around the league.

Young threw for just over 8,000 yards, with 42 touchdowns and 42 interceptions, in his five seasons with the Titans.

In addition, he ran for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns during his tenure in Tennessee.

There are teams who are in need of a quarterback, so it is very likely that Young will find another job in the NFL.
