Jim Harbaugh: Are the San Francisco 49ers the Favorite To Land Him?

There are quite a few teams in the National Football League that are in need of a new head coach.

The Oakland Raiders were one of those teams, but you can scratch them off the board because they are likely to promote offensive coordinator Hue Jackson to head coach.

Teams such as the Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and Cleveland Browns are all teams that are searching for a head coach.

There is speculation that Jeff Fisher may be on his way out of Tennessee, so the Titans can certainly be a possibility for Harbaugh.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that the 49ers will meet with Harbaugh on Wednesday at an "undisclosed location."

There were rumors that interim head coach Jason Garrett would be brought back to Dallas to coach the Cowboys, but owner Jerry Jones shot those rumors down.

Eric Studesville took over for Josh McDaniels during the season and there has been no word on the coaching situation in Denver.

Tony Sparano is on the hot seat for the Miami Dolphins, so Harbaugh is also a candidate for them.

Eric Mangini was also relieved of duty in Cleveland, and there has been speculation that Team President Mike Holmgren may take over as head coach.

So who is the favorite to land Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh?

Harbaugh is the hottest coaching candidate and the San Francisco 49ers have to be the favorite at this point because they are actually meeting with him.

Harbaugh led Stanford to a 12-1 record and a 40-12 victory in the Orange Bowl over Virginia Tech.
